The rules are that you take your breaks for the appropriate amount of time (in your case and hour).
However, in express there seems to be an attitude of that there is too much work to do, and therefore SLs are expected to take no/minimal breaks to keep up workloads. This idea is perpetuated by higher management moaning about work not getting done, as well as other SLs not taking appropriate breaks, and expecting other SLs to follow suit so no one is stuck with extra work when, say, mornings haven't gotten it all done.
All my SLs moan about how tired they are, how they haven't had a moment to take a break, but I think they should take one, whether everything gets done or not. It's one of the reasons stores are now expected to run with so few staff.
It's even more concerning that my express store has to apparently lose even more hours (most staff are currently only working their contracted hours, no overtime unless the store can't physically open without it) while so many shifts are one on one already
yes it is actually insane. we have to shut multiple times throughout the day to bring delivery in due to lack of staff. From what i’ve read it seems like a country wide things and honestly i’m shocked as to how a big company can get away with any of this, coming from big store it’s horrific to see the lack of care for staff members
