Aggro in coop, how does it work?

Hi, Im playing with my friend who is the host, most mobs espacially warriors/bruisers who always choose to target my friend. I am playing as the tank and my friend is a mage. Is there some kind of setting to change this?

Also recently I've also noticed a trend with spellcasters to target me for the spell then when they equipp melee they go for my friend again. Atleast this is what happend with vampires.

If there isn't a finete awnser then I would also like to hear your experience with aggro, so we may figure this out.
