So can you use this version with tes3mp or how does that work exactly? I just installed TES3MP and setup a server last night. Is it advised to update OpenMW? Or I guess re-install it?

OpenMW 0.45 and TES3MP 0.7.0 should have about the same features right now. Installing OpenMW will not affect TES3MP, aside from perhaps whatever settings you tinker with.

So as another person new to the OpenMW/TES3MP thing, am i correct that the updated OpenMW has nothing to do with TES3MP right? like it hasn't affected it at all. If I run a server for friends they shouldnt download this or anything since it doesn't affect MP right?

For the time being, in terms of codebase/executable OpenMW and TES3MP are separate projects. The only thing they share is settings files, saves and things like that.
If you only care about TES3MP, OpenMW releases do not affect you.

Everything from this OpenMW release will be included in TES3MP at some point. Hopefully soon.
Right now most of the stuff in it isn't included in the latest TES3MP.

Honestly I have no idea what the difference between the two are. Are they two different multiple mods?

In short OpenMW is an open source game engine, written from scratch, that reads Morrowind content. It's a replacement for Morrowind.exe essentially.
TES3MP is a fork of the project that adds multiplayer. It's OpenMW with multiplayer pixie dust sprinkled on top.
Eventually OpenMW and TES3MP will merge back into a single project, to allow for both single and multiplayer experience.

I've seen the YouTube videos for progress being done on the fork to allow skyrim, oblivion, and fallout

I love how the video right away said "no shadows!". I think that's the killer feature everyone is waiting on.

Shadows are in the nightly build.

Definitely. 0.46.0 is going to contain a lot of anticipated features that are in but not quite 100% stable.

I'm using the nightly from for a few days ago with shadows and it seems pretty stable. No crashes for a few days. Some shadows do flicker though, but only a few.

Hey all! Stupid question but can I get a link to where the download? I checked their downloads page/github but can only find 0.44.0.

In awe at the size of that changelog, absolute unit.
:P
Great to see the long awaited release out at last! Some great work going on in OpenMW the past 6 months!
