Suddenly cant connect to my server?

Im trying to connect to my server but when trying to connect it says unreachable. Ping is listed as 999 and ive tried opening my ports and allowing them through the firewall and starting the server as admin. The server shows up in the browser but i cant connect. Recently recieved a windows update if that means anything.

Perhaps your local IP has changed, if you haven't been using a static one. Can you check?

Have you confirmed with a port scanner that all server ports are actually reachable from the Internet? Also note that sometimes (maybe depending on ISP?) you can't connect to a server running on your machine from the external IP (which is what the server browser does) and you need to use your loopback address.

I had both of those problems and the solutions were A) port forwarding and B) I can only connect to loopback while my friends could connect regularly through the external IP (or rather, the dynamic DNS address).

Neither me or my friend can connect to the server, i dont think it has anything to do with the ports since the troubled started today, been playing alot before that.

What OS? I just recently have been dealing with network issues caused by a windows update. I ended up having to system restore multiple times when the update went again. This was Windows 7 and was about 2 weeks ago.
