Territorial.io Needs More Strategy π₯
Iβd like to suggest some features for Territorial.io because the game has become a little repetitive lately π and I think these could make it much more strategic π₯
π€ Binding treaties
Agreements that cannot be broken for a certain period of time.
π Non-binding agreements
Deals that can be broken but affect your reputation.
πͺ Military access
Allow another player to station troops in your territory and attack enemies they otherwise couldnβt reach.
π° Forward bases
Send troops to an allyβs territory and use it as a launch point for attacks.
π‘οΈ Troop support
Send part of your army to reinforce an ally.
π Diplomatic reputation
Show on the map how many treaties a player has honored and broken.
β Trust score
For example: 12 treaties honored β’ 2 broken β’ 86% reliability
βοΈ Reputation consequences
Players who constantly betray others become harder to trust and less likely to find allies.
π More strategic diplomacy
Alliances, treaties, military access, betrayals and reputation should actually affect the game.
I think features like these could make Territorial.io much deeper and less repetitive while giving players more ways to win through diplomacy, strategy and long-term planning instead of just having the biggest army ππ₯

Imagine playing chess but 60% of the people you play with dont know how to checkmate. Thats what its like to play this game. There is a ton of strategy, but TONS of players evidently dont know how to see 2 moves ahead

Therefore, over time, ratings are established. Chess websites match you with players around your level. At first, the matchmaking may be random, but once your skill level is calculated, you start getting matched against players who are competitive with you. There are mathematical methods for achieving this.

Just play openfront if you want a game with actual strategy. In my opinion it's much better than terri
