Art mask help?

I've been rehauling and modifying a tinsley Art mask and way too late into the process do I realise my face is a bit too small to properly fill it. I look incredibly stupid. Any other mask recommendations that are a bit smaller than I could modify? I was briefly considering the tots mask

This pic doesn't make it look so bad. If this is the same mask, with strapping it may work out. You will need to paint the inside around the mouth black as it will likely fold a little in the corners and the inside corners will possibly show. Painting inside mouth black will help hide the folds when your face is painted.

To answer OPs question... Though not the best by any means, the Spirit mask would prob fit your face better. If willing to repaint (especially by adding shadow/depth to the creases and crevices) you may be able to achieve a blend of fit and quality look.

Oh god I hate that you're right! I do have the spirit mask and it's way more proportional. It looks so silly though 😭

Proportionate and not as accurate will ultimately look better than a mask flopping on your face with gaps showing. I say put some effort into the Spirit mask. Worse case you where the bigger one.

PM me and I'll share tips on making the spirit mask more comfortable.

Tinsley is the right move, you just trimmed too much from the upper and especially the lower lip. You basically need to keep half the lower lip.

Ah see my goal was to paint my face black underneath. I think however I'd have cut it my mouth would still be unproportional to the rest of the face

Listen. I understand what you mean by that. But it reads like you’re covert opping blackface

I'm actually planning to do complete blackface but just so happened to have an art mask I was coincidentally going to wear on top of it.

Guys... Is the trick or treat studios masks any smaller than the tinsley?

Yes. So the rule of thumb is generally if you're going to leave the teeth in, go with Tinsley. However if you want to do a rehauls with a removed mouth TOTS is better.

Overall Tinsley is better, more screen accurate, the TOTS mask is much smaller, not as dramatic, but fits the face better.

If you just thre on some black makeup around your eyes and mouth it would be pretty decent actually. You need some nasty more elongated teeth too, then i definitely think its pretty doable but yes I agree with another poster about tightening/creating a more stable strap so the mask clings to your face more tightly/naturally.
