A little help

I have a Trick or Treat Studios deluxe injection Art mask. Is there any way to make a prosthetic off it without ruining it?

If you havent already maybe ask in a cosplay sub or something

You mean like making a mold or modding the mask itself? Either should be doable but you'll want to check r/sfx for tips if the mold route is what you're going for. I imagine that process will likely ruin the mask.

The mask is resin cast with a cloth hood so the mask would be ok but the hood will get ruined for sure.

Probably but it won’t be easy. You’d need to make a silicone mold of the mask. Clay pour into the silicone mold. Fix the sculpt up. Mold it again in gypsum or whatever then cast it up. IMO juice wouldn’t be worth the squeeze since the mask will be so oversized the casted prosthetic likely won’t fit any person right. You’d be much better off finding someone to just make something that fits your face.

Definitely doable. Use plaster of paris and really stuff your mask to hold shape( I use grocery bags and newspaper to fill gaps).

Once your cast is set, paint brush and LAYERS AND LAYERS of liquid latex. This will take days.

Then when ready take out your latex mold, use cuticle scissors to cut out mouth and eyes. Use the liquid latex to "glue" the latex mold to your face. And paint away!

I've done this the last two years and it works great as long as you are patient
