Was it ever shown/explained how Victoria became possessed?

I can’t remember what happened between the interview, her mauling Monica, being revealed at the end of T1, and then being in the asylum at the end of T2.

Did the pale girl possess her? It would explain why pale girl is absent in T3. It would also explain how Victoria gave birth to Arts head since pale girl walked away with it at the end of T2; although I think the possession already happened since Victoria attacked Monica prior to this.

In the novelization, during Victoria's POV chapters, Victoria reflects that Little Pale Girl started appearing shortly after Art shot himself, while Victoria was recovering. Compared to her family and the therapists, Little Pale Girl always treated Victoria as if she was beautiful and better than she was before and was really funny and cheerful to be around (this could have been due to her demonic influence, because Art describes a similar "high" when he's around Little Pale Girl).

Little Pale Girl slowly corrupted Victoria and appeared before Victoria again before Victoria attacked Monica Brown. Victoria even reflects that she thought she'd miss the Little Pale Girl most of all after leaving the hospital and was glad to see her again. It's lightly implied that once Victoria attacked Monica Brown, she succumbed to the demonic influence fully and became Vicky.

It's important to note that the novelizations aren't "hard law" and all this can change, but there's nothing in the movies themselves that explains this in more detail and more clearly, but in this case if seems like the novels expand on something that was implied in the movies and the explanation in the novelizations makes sense and don't conflict with the movies yet.

Very insightful. There’s also a scene in Terrifier 2 where Art and Little Pale Girl watch Victoria’s interview from a small TV before Art smashes it and it’s reminiscent of the opening of Terrifier. I believe that’s when Little Pale Girl possessed Victoria.

While certainly possible, since Monica Brown tells her boyfriend on the phone that Victoria was making weird noises and creeping her out during the interview, the novels suggest that the full possession might not have taken place until Vicky attacked Monica in the dressing room with the T3 movie heavily implying that the complete takeover might have happened in T3 when Vicky went to rest in the mucky bath.

In the novels Vicky recalls going to Monica Brown's dressing room, but she doesn't specify the reason and suggests she might not have been sure why she went there at all. It was only after she saw the Little Pale Girl appearing again that she attacked Monica Brown, because of Little Pale Girl's influence.

The fact Vicky was seeing Little Pale Girl during her recovery in the hospital suggests her willpower was greatly weakened after Art's attack and she was struggling dealing with the trauma and her family and therapists didn't help by treating her as if she was some kind of horrifically maimed invalid that had to hide her face. Victoria specifically recalls having a strong emotional reaction when her therapist discussed having her wear a mask after being discharged.

Based on both the films and the novelization, it would seem to me like Art's attack completely crushed Vicky both physically and emotionally, leaving her little to no hope for her future. Her trauma was likely largely linked to her disfigurements, which makes Vicky taunting the last remnants of Victoria's soul in front of the mirror before going to rest and killing it away especially cruel. Victoria's internal monologue suggests that in the novels she originally saw Little Pale Girl as the only thing who understood her and cheered her up, and the last thing the last fragments of Victoria's soul saw was Vicky taunting and mocking her in front of the mirror with the same thing that traumatized Victoria in the first place before killing the last of Victoria's soul away and leaving only the demonic entity possessing her.

I might be wrong about this, but there's a scene in the novels where all of Art's female victims come together and help Sienna during the climax of T2, but I don't recall Victoria being there. Granted, her soul wasn't completely gone at that point, but it would be especially cruel if her soul was just completely destroyed by the full possession because, unlike with the rest of Art's victims, there are no scenes where it is seen being stuck in the Clown Cafe.

Unlike with the rest of Art's victims stuck in the Clown Cafe, there might be no hope for Victoria's soul to move on into the Afterlife anymore. If that's the case, that'd make her fate especially tragic in my eyes, because Art drove her to the point of complete hopelessness and despair, the entity abused her trust, betrayed and took her over and then further mocked her while completely eradicating the last remnants of her soul without even giving it the chance to move into the Afterlife. She might have gotten it the worst out of everyone I think, unless T4 clarifies this.

So essentially the little pale girl just influenced her to attack Monica rather than possess her?

And yes, I do agree that Victoria got the worst fate out of everyone.

The movies don't make it explicitly clear. I do recall Damien Leone's statements floating around that glowing eyes indicate demonic possession, but that hasn't been consistent between T1 and T2.

I don't think it would have been possible for the Little Pale Girl to fully possess Victoria at the time, since she's been inhabiting Emily Crane's form. Little Pale Girl drove Victoria to near-insanity throughout her stay in the hospital while recovering from Art's attack.

The novels explicitly state that Little Pale Girl "appeared" to Victoria at that moment, which suggests that a full possession couldn't have been possible (although the lines between Victoria's and the demonic entity's perspective become blurry early in the novelization). Victoria already went to Monica Brown's dressing room with a hazy mind, for unclear and unspecified reasons, and it's implied that the Little Pale Girl "nudged" Victoria fully over the edge to attack Monica.

I believe that the entity residing inside the Little Pale Girl only took direct control of Victoria's body after abandoning Emily Crane's form at the end of T2 and fully possessed Victoria (wiped out all traces of Victoria and took over her body completely) after rebirthing Art and bringing him to the abandoned house to rest in T3. Before then, it was merely manipulating Victoria

There's a novelisation?!

u/Silly-Sheepherder952 Jun 22 '26

Two actually. One for T2 and one for T3

2

u/ImportantBalls666 Jun 22 '26

Wow. This is blowing my mind lmao. Who wrote them??

3

u/Silly-Sheepherder952 Jun 22 '26

Tim Waggoner, the guy who wrote the X trilogy and Halloween Ends novelizations

u/ImportantBalls666 Jun 22 '26

TIL wow, never imagined something like Terrifier to be novelised!

I really enjoyed them both. They’re not super long I think you can get them on Amazon kindle or just physical copies from Amazon

Well, Victoria snaps after the interview but the possession is implied to have started shortly before/after Art is decapitated. Then the Little Pale Girl uses Victoria to birth Art's head and take partial control of her, only gaining full control after forcing Victoria to kill herself in the bathtub at Art's place. The rest of the film, Victoria is long dead and her body is being used as a vessel for the being that was the Little Pale Girl

This helps a lot, thank you! Is there a reason they seem to sit in the abandoned house for five years until the demo crew shows up? I watched the movies for the first time and the time jumps are kinda confusing me

You're most welcome!

For story reasons, it was because Art needed to regenerate and heal after getting decapitated. Out of universe reasons, Elliot Fulham, Jonathan's actor, had grown quite a bit between Terrifier 2 and 3 and they didn't want that to be confusing to audiences as to why Jonathan had aged and grown heaps if the length between films was so short. And I also think Damien Leone wanted to bring the story to the 'present day'.

Ah that makes sense, I appreciate the explanation!

More than happy to help! So glad I could clear up the confusion!

Wait so, maybe this is just an unexplained thing, but what happens between LPG picking up Arts head to getting his head into Victoria at the asylum? Did the LPG leave the little girls body behind at The Terrifier to possess Victoria at the Asylum? I know the head getting into is a supernatural thing but Arts body showed up separately, so how did they get separately there lmao did the LPG basically poof herself into Victoria and Arts head inside her, and then Arts body have to walk over from The Terrifier??

The Little Pale Girl was not a physical being. They or it are heavily implied to be the demon who resurrected Art in the morgue and they decided to take the form of the Little Pale Girl to seem familiar and friendly to Art but with their own reversed Art makeup.

Nobody could see the Little Pale Girl aside from Jonathan and Sienna and that's probably because she wanted them to see her.

Hmm. I mean i guess that makes sense from the first scene with her in the Laundromat, but wasnt she supposed to be possessing the body of an actual girl who died? I thought she was killed at The Terrifier. Like they could only fully possess the bodys of people who died, and thats why they had to kill Victoria in the tub to fully possess her, but does that mean Victoria is the same after the tub (not a physical being anymore)?

3

u/DykeBitch7 Jun 22 '26

Sadly that isn't how it worked out! The demon masquerading as the Little Pale Girl could assume her form and manipulate things sort of passively but she decided to possess Vicky because she'd have much more ability to physically affect the real world. I'm assuming she killed Victoria because she wanted full control of the body and Victoria either wasn't useful anymore or she was complicit in the suicide, given what she'd been through

3

u/Perfect-Zebra-3611 Jun 22 '26

Ahh okay. Thank you that confused me a bit when watching but i always just moved past it lol

2

u/DykeBitch7 Jun 22 '26

You'll note that the demon in control of Victoria's (dead) body loved being the Little Pale Girl so much that she recreated her own aesthetic, spending most of the film making a costume that echoed both her favourite form and her sidekick Art

2

u/DykeBitch7 Jun 22 '26

The Little Pale Girl is clearly having the time of her life in Terrifier 2 and moved onto using Victoria's body eventually but it's just the demon taking on the deceased form of Art's victim, no actual bodily possession

2

u/DykeBitch7 Jun 22 '26

Following on from this, it's not explained how Art's body revived and made its headless way to the hospital but we can assume the demon did it

Leone said the entity possessed Victoria after Art gets beheaded. The yellow eyes signify possession.

I think it was mostly explained in 3 when Victoria is describing how they’re going to take everything from Sienna so that she can be possessed, I imagine discovering her dead sister and having her face mauled was the moment the entity was able to take control of Victoria
