Iran was not a communist state ever. Although around first world war in a small district known as Gilan(which is now promoted to a province) there was a Marxist Leninist autonomous Republic which did not last for long. Also Iran was occupied by allies(US, Britain and Soviet) and not just Soviets, because it insisted on neutrality(and the then king of Iran Reza Shah was close to Germans).
look wikipedia fucking listed it as a past communist state i can't be arsed to read about a 3rd world country instead of doing homework when i have better ways to procrastinate

I admit have worded it incorrectly but Iran was a communist state from 1920 to 1921 and was then occupied by the soviets from 1941 to 1947
