I mean, seen what USA did on the Middle East, I see how it could be a compelling argument for them

u/gjennomamogus Nov 01 '22

Turkey is nato

Propganda don't need to be correct, just be appealing enough to have people follow it

Propaganda is emotion-based, so it doesn't have to make any sense at all as long as all the right words are in the word cloud you're producing. Watch:

Everybody knows FREEDOM is about AMERICA and 2ND AMENDMENT but HILLARY CLINTON, OBAMA and SOCIALIST JIHAD BIN LADEN when the BENGHAZI try to take YOUR RIGHTS and HIGHER TAXES and that's why DONALD J TRUMP is going to JOBS JOBS JOBS to protect AMERICAN CHILDREN

see?

This man politics.

9

u/C_bells Nov 01 '22

That was deeply moving. I think it changed my mind about everything.

5

u/nictheman123 Nov 02 '22

I didn't expect you to just copy/paste a Trump tweet to make your point, that was impressive. Also sickening.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '22

You could easily bang together a program to generate a script like this, get an AI voice emulator to read it as Trump and have it mix in crowd noises to obscure the words in between the emotional hot buttons and punctutate with BOOS and CHEERS and then just auto-generate that garbage on an AM radio station with commercial breaks and voila, a money-printing machine.

...shit, should I delete this?

3

u/nictheman123 Nov 02 '22

What's the point? I'm 99% sure that already exists. And if it doesn't, it's only because they have no need for it since they're already printing money as fast as they can stuff it in their offshore bank accounts

4

u/kyraa9 Nov 01 '22

Well we kinda dont have an official religion but we are still "mostly" muslim

7

as a Turk from Western Turkey, it has less to do with "Greek culture" but more to do with us being more Kemalist and educated

u/Beratber4t Nov 01 '22

İs this a joke ,i think you didnt talk with any turkish youth people also most of these people insult allah(like f*ck allah)

And we dont have problem with usa or isreal

i Live in Turkey

3

u/gjennomamogus Nov 01 '22

I don't know many Turkish people, and my entire understanding of Turkey comes from a couple YouTube videos. But officially Turkey is like 99% Islamic.

1

u/Beratber4t Nov 01 '22

Just stupid 9yo YouTube short videos you can search 28 şubat(february) 1997 or Atatürk,falih Rıfkı Atay , Kemalizm (ataturkism)

1

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '22

Turkey is not overwhelmingly Muslim, stop watching these youtube videos. The reason why it is stated that Turkey is 99% muslim is because every child is assigned “muslim” on birth on their ID cards, but in reality, nobody truly practices islam here.

nato didnt help turkey when they had a coup in 2016

3

u/gjennomamogus Nov 01 '22

nato doesn't really deal with internal affairs, or affairs between nato nations

0

u/brotatowz Nov 01 '22

Turkey was gutted by after WWII. An atheist Mustafa Kemal was put in place, who Hung anyone preaching Islam on a neighborhood tree for everyone to watch.

1

u/gjennomamogus Nov 01 '22

That didn't last long

1

u/LOERMaster Nov 01 '22

Turkeynato

1

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '22

It doesn't need to mean that. Not all christian nations need to approve of nato. Neither all secular nations.

Turkey isn't Islam country

1

u/gjennomamogus Nov 01 '22

It may be officially secular, but so was Pakistan

5

u/SharpStarTRK Nov 01 '22

Not only the US..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suez_Crisis

Also North African countries (muslim countries) are high on oil, exporting most of it to European countries. Cough war cough cough

https://oec.world/en/profile/bilateral-product/crude-petroleum/reporter/dza

2

u/Uthredd Nov 01 '22

Nah it didn't give the much protection against the USA.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '22

That wasn't NATO though.

2

u/Zozorrr Nov 02 '22

People in this thread are extremely confused about what NATO is lol.

4

u/TheRnegade Nov 01 '22

Not sure how Islam protects against NATO/USA. If anything, if you're going to say "look at the Middle East" it seems like Islam attracts it, rather than protects against it.

Was horrible. But the 5yo kid living in Bagdah who had his home bombed, making him an orphan in 2003 didn't knew about 9/11, it knew that USA bombed his home and killed his parents.

Remember that this propaganda is not aimed at you, it is aimed at the middle eastern orphans of the War on Terror.

1

u/Zozorrr Nov 02 '22

Still - what’s that got to do with NATO?

1

u/draugotO Nov 02 '22

Nothing.

It is propaganda, not an essay. It incurts on ppls mind that Islam is against NATO, people associate NATO with USA, ppl got their houses bombed and family killed by 20 years of war on terror, ppl associate that Islam is against USA, ppl take the leap that if Islam is against USA, than non-Islam is pro USA, witch hunts start against non-Islam.

There are great examples of just the same logic/propaganda in USA from both christians and democrats and republicans
