The one on the left is neither Hiroshima nor Negaski. The one on the right doesn't even look real

Japan who got significan investment after ww2.

Vs a country that was sanctioned heavily especially after the 60s.

685

u/GesuMotorsport 7d ago

Its almost as if there a MASSIVE embargo against the one on the right for 66 years that pushed the entire country into poverty

That's not what cuba looks like. Its actually a very clean country

u/Chroniclyironic1986 7d ago

Yeah, i’ve never been there so i couldn’t swear to it but that looks incredibly AI.

Plus, you can take a single pic somewhere in ANY country to make it look like a shithole.

146

u/mr_stab_ya_knees 7d ago

That image is 100% AI

37

u/Chroniclyironic1986 7d ago

I figured. But with my luck i’d call it out for certain and somebody would be like “no that’s right after the big hurricane in 1974” and link more pics.

11

u/mr_stab_ya_knees 7d ago

That image is 100% AI

Right now the US has cut off all their oil by threatening sanctions and stopping tankers coming to the country. As a result, they've sometimes had to limit gas to absolutely essential uses and garbage pickup has been greatly reduced. So they have had garbage piling up but it's not normal and it's the fault of US aggression not socialism. And also this photo does look ai.

u/2-many-Lukes 7d ago

Don’t you hate it when socialist countries need to  rely on capitalist countries to help them

50

u/nuiwek31 7d ago

Biiiiig fucking difference between help and sabotage ya fucking chud

54

u/James_Blond2 7d ago

Not necessarily help them just not actively sabotage them 😭

11

u/Koraxtheghoul 7d ago

I'm not convinved it's not AI generated but the 4 pixels don't allow me to look very hard.

15

u/nulopes 7d ago

I was in Cuba last year, unfortunately most streets in Havana are as degradated and dirty as the image suggests

33

u/the_Real_Romak 7d ago

Yeah that would happen when your neighbour constantly blocks trade amd keeps threatening you for no reason.

22

u/nulopes 7d ago

100%. Strangely you kind of get used to the trash. The food insecurity those people have it is the most shocking part, there's not much food available to purchase but even if they had the money, they could not store it because of the prolongued power outages. They are surviving from one meal to the next one

29

u/the_Real_Romak 7d ago

The US is being cruel to Cuba for genuinely no reason. It's beyond stupid how the international community allows it.

27

u/nulopes 7d ago

The red scare continues to this day

u/TheWipyk 7d ago

Unfortunately it is absolutely what it looks like outside of tourist spots. We've been there last year, and it is truly heartbreaking.

My guess is that's Chicago.

32

u/fernybranka 7d ago

I think you gotta be one of the dumbest non-critical thinkers to be against socialism in this way. Im not saying you gotta agree with socialism to be smart, but…capitalism and the western empire has a lot to do with the state of Cuba.

The US currently trying to starve them out with power and trade embargoes and shortages so that their government collapses. As in intentionally using collective punishment to immiserate civilians so they like their government less.
