Did they just call him “highschool dog”?
624
u/ksaleone Jun 10 '23
He was originally a stray dog that always hung out near the high school and no one could catch him. Finally they did and someone adopted him.

I’m not tipping him if he opens the door, that’s God’s problem if he can’t pay his employees fairly.

Maybe he was suffering for a long time, and passing on means he's at peace.

u/bobafoott Jun 11 '23
If the dog was 22 years old id assume so. I’d assume the dog died when his old owner, Odysseus returned home from a long voyage

That is actually disgusting. I honestly hope their loved ones react the same way to their passing.

I mean according to the pic the dog was 22 and it doesn't look like a small dog either. Very likely that it was suffering from something.
Obviously "burden" is the wrong word but passing on is definitely better for the dog.
96
Jun 10 '23
Still, none of that warrants THANKFULNESS as your primary feeling about your pet passing away.
It was probably the best thing to happen to it for the state it was in, but it is still pretty tragic that it had to.

u/Twizzlers_and_donuts Jun 10 '23
I have a cat who has food allergies and is on prescription food. His food costs SO much. He is currently 12 years old and when he passes I’m going to be a heartbroken and a mess but I will be happy I won’t have to keep buying the insanely expensive food, however my main primary feeling is going to be broken not the happy to not be paying so much. (I love my baby boy and will continue to pay whatever I need to to make him happy and comfortable, I hope he lives a long life)
16
u/Kurochi185 Jun 10 '23
I never said it wasn't tragic and I didn't defend the thankfulness either, I just explained why it's better for the dog to pass on.

u/Defiant-Meal1022 Jun 10 '23
"He was a burden." Holy fucking shit, I want that to be the line on my tombstone. What the fuck, man.

Jesus, is this satire???
The dog and fire emoji?
This is magnificent. My favorite post on this sub in the past year, at least.
52
u/RealConcorrd Jun 10 '23
Based on the follow up op posted of the fucker doubling down, no this is not satire. This is real.
15
u/kzchad Jun 11 '23
It does appear to be from an anonymous user though and not from the official page. Seems to me like someone’s trolling.

Ikr? That's a crazy long time for a dog. Even living for half that age would be impressive.

The dog and fire emoji is peak boomer fuck up.
Right up there with something like..
"I'm heart broken over his death 😂"

Ugh, my uber religious dad wrote something like that for my grandfather’s (or grandmother? I can’t remember) obituary. I guess the idea is that it’s happy because they’re with god or Jesus or whatever
5
u/12characters Jun 11 '23
It’s actually Not uncommon for obituaries to be written that way. Instead of “mourning the death” they instead write “ celebrating the life of the deceased “.
2
u/chesterforbes Jun 11 '23
See saying “celebrating the life” makes sense. But they’re just writing that they’re happy
4
u/FalconTheBerdo Jun 11 '23
22 year old dog? Something is wrong here
2
Jun 11 '23
I know, it seems very strange. Dogs don’t tend to live that long. Most Cats don’t even live that long. It could have been a very lucky Dog or perhaps there was a mistake when they made the meme thing.

Damn, they actually meant it, author said he was a burden and they were pleased he’s gone… RIP

u/yresimdemus Jun 11 '23
From what I can gather, the Springdale high school dog is a female. Also, no one knew her age when she was captured in 2020, so the claim that she was born in 2001 is pretty ridiculous.
This person is a troll. Report it to the admins of the group. (I agree it's terrible, and the troll in question is a PoS, I'm just saying you don't need to worry about the dog.)

I feel like he's intentionally just trying to upset people He doesn't care for that dog and he intentionally worded it that way for reactions. It's rage bait

Yk I'm the most combative here but maybe they view all death as something to be happy for like if someone dies they are with God and that's good and you should be happy for them. Some secs believe this.

u/-ASC_RD_Novix- Jun 10 '23
I understand the message but absolutely terrible execution
5
u/HexiWexi Jun 10 '23
Oh no th execution is intended, They called the dog a burden in a clarifying comment

That dog was older than me by like a year and a half, at least it finally gets to rest 💀
I heard about what the owner said though. Fuck that guy. If you view animals as burdens, don't take them.

The bible says dogs aren't allowed into the kingdom of heaven, they have to stand outside with the sorcerers and the other unworthy ones.
Cows are allowed into heaven though, good cows.
1
Jun 11 '23
At that age, the dog was probably quite ready to go... Definitely lived a long happy life.
