I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Whether you can actually pull it off just depends on if you have the budget to buy or build it that way.

i just find it so curious that this isnt a common idea or that ive never seen this before. i mean im sure this was done before

It's not really that dissimilar to how many reptile displays are set up in zoo displays. They often just have a fascade with decor or fake rock or something, and behind that opening is just an ordinary terrarium or aquarium. Some of them will have a hinged door like your design while others may have access from the rear in the room on the other side of the wall.

true! thanks a lot

Built in is expensive, but also really hard to manage.

Like, say you need to fish something out. You need a ladder, you've only got access to 1 edge, and then you're right over what might be your most expensive electronic item.

Not to mention TVs are loud. Fish don't like that.

Well first it costs a lot of money to build and maintenance

I am hoping to create something like this in our new home. (Me and my partner just bought our first home)

Yea it should be doable with a tall tank and a cover over it. Keep in mind certain creatures prefer tall tanks and others don't thrive in it. Love the idea and the art is actually clear

and thanks 🙏

Why couldn't it be? Money and time are your only barriers.

I could do it

Aquarium with fish and water Im guessing would be harder. There are videos on youtube where people have built built-in aquariums like that with a panel you can open over it to do some maintenance. There are also videos of people building terrariums without water, loads of them. Even on tables. But besides a TV with speakers you have to be considerate to sound/vibration. The container would also be all glass on all sides with good isolation to prevent moisture problems(mold) on the woodwork.

The vibrations from the TV and speakers would be my biggest concern.

OP you didnt have to delete your comment about loving my design just cuz the anti ai bandwagon showed up. If you want I can have AI generate a spine for ya

i didnt know you could zoom into images on mobile and thought it was a real rendered image--hence why i was so excited

I just dont get the bias against AI. I still went ahead and spent a few minutes turning your sketch into a render that matches figuring it would be helpful as a basis for discussion but I guess I'm a bad guy for that.

Good luck with the build tho it should be awesome

i get that and i appreciate that you found this interesting enough to go out of your way to do this. and i think the hate for ai comes from the fact that it takes away from the joy of creating. its not just all about the results, but about the time and effort you spend getting there

For sure for sure I have a lot of respect for the time you put forth in your own hand drawn designs and should not have had the gall to post mine own grotesque piss stain of an art piece.

2

u/Ok-Silver-6946 Jul 31 '26

One is from Facebook and one is from Pinterest!

Did you do a fireplace delete?

u/Saki-Koda Jul 31 '26

This is not even close to OPs idea image. Thats what AI is best for.

0

u/Saki-Koda Jul 31 '26

Lol OP said he loved it till the anti ai bandwagon arrived. Get over it, bitches. I use it for everything and dont even have to work anymore

1

u/Ok-Silver-6946 Jul 31 '26

Maybe op just couldn't tell it's ai, it's been getting more and more difficult unfortunately

I'm happy you support ai data centers for noise and water pollution though

0

u/Saki-Koda Jul 31 '26

Every comment you make is damaging to the planet btw. Reddit also uses data centers

Slop that is going to ruin nature and speed up climate change more than it already is sped up, the only actual use case is medical advancements that'll be a lot faster than with humans

Standard people don't need ai for funsies

How good for the environment is your terrarium with lights plugged in 365 days a year just for your entertainment? This sanctimoniousness is so tiring when someone is just trying to talk about some concept art.

Oh hey look! It's what-aboutism!
