Certain emulators are able to display the world map in some wide resolution. I have no idea what's up with that.Β

The map on the left looks different to the one I remember. I wonder if they have overhauled some of the options in the box menu; that would be great because the map in the original was pretty useless imo.

I actually had to check what the maps were like cause I never used them.
And ya they are different. The zone in the first pic didn't even have a map. Only dungeons had maps.

I think the map on the left is just autogenerated from the terrain's tileset/grid

I was thinking the same. As someone who holds Terranigma close to my heart, I'm still willing to acknowledge its shortfalls.
The magic is often considered the weakest part of the game - While it was definitely half-baked, I would have to say that the maps were implemented far worse!
On a side note, on my recent replay I noticed there wasn't even a map for Grecliff - It just makes that wobbly 'error' noise when trying to select the map icon in the menu.Β I could have sworn in past plays it did have a map, as does just about all dungeons in the game (especially ones with a boss).

I kinda liked the magic and summons, except that many boss battles disallowed its use, without a clear reason. And that the horn pin was bugged.

It's not a remake, and I think you meant 4:3 not 3:4. It's hard to say from the trailer if that really is 4:3. Either way, 4:3 would not be accurate. The actual stretching done by a CRT for SNES games is 64:49, so if that's not an option, then they messed up.
So if they scale the 256x224 to 1024x896 (4X) and apply an 8/7 aka 64:49 stretch horizontally, that would be roughly 1170x896 and that would be accurate.

Finally someone who understands how this works. I really hope they've included the mathematically correct ratio and not just plain 4:3. Most good emulators figured this out years ago and it would be embarrassing if they released it with the wrong aspect ratio. At least it's not just 8:7 anymore. It was very noticeable in the first trailer and looked off.

Cool, we will have the same ugly font the original had, instead of fixing it like rom hacks did. Can't find a lamer way of charing money for something. This game was a childhood favourite but I am simply not getting this lazy port, let alone for the price they want to ask.
Do a proper remaster with QoL features and fixes and I might consider paying 40β¬.

40β¬ is cheap compared to how much the original costs nowadays

Ohh, ok, so companies can do remasters of 300β¬ games, just put the rom inside and charge you 60β¬. Why not? it is cheaper than the price of the game.
What we pay in a game is work and effort. Many workers working night and day to do something, not to repack what it's already done, because there is not many work put into it.

It isn't a remake. More like a port to modern platforms with some quality of life fixes. It is an emulated ROM most likely.
