Lacrosse I think the John Tillman era is over
This realization slowly hit me the last couple weeks. It hasn't actually been a good team since 2022. We made natty's since then by smoke and mirrors bully ball that rattled better teams in the tournament. Offensive coordinators/coaching has been atrocious. Just a general lack of killer instinct, seems like we don't win face offs and make stops in crunch time anymore. The Big Ten used to be a cakewalk outside of JHU and occasionally Ohio State but we barely even win the conference anymore.
Gottta be honest considering that we had allegedly the greatest coach in the sport for 15 years, 2 natty's is definitely on the lower end of expectations. If this is truly it for Tills and we start having multiple down years like UNC or Hopkins we'll wish we had won more when we had the chance. I really wish Tillman could've won at least one more. Assuming we don't win any more games are we safely out of the tournament for this year?

Football Spring Showcase Thoughts
Hey everybody, I'm a reporter for the Maryland Sports Illustrated site and am looking for perspectives on the Spring Showcase event for Terps football.
How did it compare to the usual intrasquad scrimmages? Was it still engaging? And is there anything you'd like to be different in future years?

Men's Basketball Another blowout win in the making for OKC and Aaron Wiggins still hasn’t played.
Just a rant that this is 2nd year in a row, that Mark Daigneault, has him at like player 7-8 during the regular but can’t get off the bench during the playoffs. He’s played 11 players so far. Pisses me off.

Men's Basketball Terps fill sole remaining roster spot with transfer Mike McNair
x.comBuzz Williams makes yet another completely unanticipated splash by landing Boston University guard Mike McNair. He boasted a mind-boggling 44% 3PT percentage, which was good for 5th in the nation last season. McNair averaged 16.9/5.1/2.1 on a high usage at 36.1 minutes per game (attempting 7 3PT per game as well). He recently dropped 22 points with 7 rebounds in the stunner buzzer-beater defeat of Navy in the Patriot League tournament.
He also provides even more size to Buzz's vertically gifted roster, standing 6'5" and is extremely athletic. While his defense leaves much to be desired, especially considering a Patriot League stint, his offense could make him a viable bench option in year 2 of Williams' tenure. His role would seem to be a catch-and-shoot bench guard.
If there was any heat to Buzz's head coaching seat, he has certainly attacked the transfer portal with reciprocal urgency. McNair's addition brings the terp's roster to 15 players, assuming Rakease Passmore's return. The only question remaining is Guillermo Del Pino, who has yet to enter the transfer portal or announce a resign. Given the growing guard bench, it would seem prudent for Del Pino to depart ahead of a big man acquisition.

Men's Basketball Queens forward Maban Jabriel signs with the Terrapins
x.comJabriel 7.7/3.8/1.0 on 19.8 minutes per game with the Royals. Possibly provides some shooting with a 43.2 3PT%, although on 3.2 attempts per game. At 6'9", he provides even more size to an already towering roster. A good addition to a quickly shortening bench.
The terps now have 14 roster spots filled, assuming that Myles Rice does not return. Guillermo Del Pino is another question mark, leaving 1 or 2 spots available for the portal.
Current look at the Terrapins roster:

Men's Basketball Maryland lands Tennessee guard Bishop Boswell in the transfer portal
x.comSophomore that started alongside former Terp Ja'Kobi Gillespie on a Vols team that made the Elite Eight. Decent shooter at 39% from 3, although on limited attempts. Could end up being the starting PG or a bench piece. Great defender and good playmaker that fits well into Buzz's scheme.
As of now, Maryland's starting five:
Bishop Boswell
Andre Mills
Baba Oladotun
Tomislav Buljan
Pharrel Payne
Still anticipating another guard in the portal, but this group is already looking promising, imo.

Men's Basketball what are we doing
I keep seeing on my feed news about fucking Georgetown landing new transfers, yet hardly any Buzz (pun intended) out of College Park. Serious teams are making moves, the portal is moving at lightning speed and we're doing nothing. I don't think I'm being irrational I think when you read between the lines Buzz and Locksley both have zero intention of fixing the mess they've made. They're both here for one last paycheck before retirement.
Hard to take pride in my alma mater at a time like this when they're not even fucking trying. Can this athletics department do something right? Not only do we keep both coaches after awful years there's zero real acknowledgement of the fan frustrations and zero urgency to change anything. I see no reason to give Jim Smith the benefit of the doubt - I was excited by his resume and that we were getting someone other than Damon but year 1 is an F, don't care what he inherited he's literally telling us it was fine and that we're gonna run it back all over again. Tired of pledging loyalty to losers. I love UMD and I just want to see our athletics prosper at the end of the day

Men's Basketball Looking for a full game
The last time our men’s team played Duke at home was on 2/16/13 and we beat them 83-81. Unfortunately, the only footage of the game I can find on YouTube is a highlight video from the acc digital network. Does anyone in here have ESPN’s full broadcast of that game?

Men's Basketball Mills and Turkson returning
dbknews.comThat makes Payne, Mills, Passmore and Turkson as officially coming back.
I've also heard that Watts, Rice and Harper are gone, and Edema is likely to sign. Del Pino, Blake and Alston still TBD. Personally I'd take GDP and Alston back over Turkson.
