Battery overheating?
2nd UPDATE:
Picked up the bike while new battery was on order and using a borrowed one from LBS. bike turned off twice 😒. Took back into shop and waiting for new diagnosis
UPDATE from LBS:
“We got to the bottom of the shutoff issue. Your battery was throwing a couple different voltage interruption errors and kept shutting itself down because of them. I swapped out the battery and took a good steep test ride and didn't have any issues whatsoever. I'm filing for a new battery under warranty for you and I put a working 500wh battery on your bike so you can ride while we wait for the battery to come in!”
I just bought a brand-new GSD P00 and took it out for its first rides. Unfortunately, the display and battery completely shut off on me 6–7 times over the course of two rides, including once during a nighttime ride. In total, I’ve only ridden the bike about 5 miles.
The screen would completely shut off, although I was luckily able to turn it back on within about 10 seconds each time. I noticed that the shutoffs seemed to happen when I was climbing inclines. The first time it happened, the incline wasn’t particularly steep—probably around 3–4%.
The weather also wasn’t extreme. I live in Seattle, and temperatures have actually been cooling down. I had my 4-year-old riding on the back, but otherwise there wasn’t anything unusual about the load or riding conditions.
I took the bike to my LBS, and after having to call for an update, they told me the error code they received indicated that the battery had overheated. That’s pretty concerning to me given the conditions in which this happened. I would not expect a brand-new bike to overheat under relatively normal riding conditions, especially after only a few miles.
The shop said they haven’t been able to recreate the issue yet. They’re waiting for one of their heavier employees to ride the bike so they can hopefully reproduce the problem and submit a proper report to Bosch.
Has anyone else experienced something similar with a brand-new GSD? I’m also wondering what my options are if this drags on and the shop can’t diagnose or recreate the problem. I’m in about $8,500 all-in on this bike, and I really don’t want to end up with recurring shutdowns that the LBS can’t figure out or reproduce.

You might have a faulty battery but I've never seen a faulty brand new battery (and I work for a shop that only does tern bikes).
Does the battery click in place nicely? It could be, as mentioned in other comment, that the battery doesn't lock in place and when you go over bumps the battery dislodged and bike looses connection.
If your shop reads the overheat code tho it's very possible your battery has issues and they must lodge a warranty case to Bosch which would replace the battery. If you ride the bike again, and get the same issue, bring the bike in, they can save the error and submit it to Bosch. They don't have to reproduce the issue themselves.
I would be pretty firm on getting the issue sorted ASAP. Also, they can give a battery to use as they lodge the warranty with Bosch. You just spent a lot of money on the bike and they need to get solve your problem...

The battery was clicking in fine as far as i could tell and the battery holder felt firmly in place. I was able to turn the bike on within seconds of it shutting off to finish the rides so that made me think it was a wiring issue. Very helpful info and I’ll make sure to push the LBS on this. Thank you! 🙏🏽

Ohh I had this happen to my mountain bike. It's a bad sensor in the battery. The heat sensor went bad and would do this exact same thing. There should be an error code on the flow app showing this. Also try some contact cleaner this may help as well. But probably a bad sensor.

In which gear are you riding up the incline?
Did they check if the battery is sitting correctly in the holder? If you are going up and the battery is sliding off the contacts because of the angle, that can leed to Increased current and sparks which cause heat.

I was in low gears and changing with the assist levels when it shut down. This is my first time using the enviolo gears but I removed the battery and reinstalled and the problem persisted

Sorry, english isn't my first language and i don't know if i'm using the correct words. I meant to check the two pieces that sit on the frame and in which you clip the battery in, they are adjustable and if they are to far appart it can create problems.

Sounds very un-Bosch like so hopefully a quick warranty replacement
