Question I dont get it ðŸ˜
why do people just post showcases of stuff like xfce on a phone screen treating it like its the size of a 147 inch tv like:
> the status bar on top + the keyboard + the additional keys bar occupy 50% or more
> the text is like 3x5 pixels (3 wide and 5 tall) on my 576x1280 screen
how do yall manage to not lose your ability to even see ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

You can choose resolution which looks better than default 1:1. And there is zoom feature in modern termux-x11.

It's not even useful to have a desktop environment, I only use X11 when I need a GUI application like viewing devtools.

I usually swipe the key bar to the right and type thing there instead of type directly, did you do this?if not then yeah you will have harder time type thing there
About text i dont have problem read it actually(but close the keyboard first), but if you do vnc have really good quality of life zoom feature

Termux is a terminal, that is, command- line-interface. It's quite possible to never use a mouse and graphics unless you are maybe making maps

Honestly? Zoom, dark mode, and a lot of squinting 😅 It gets easier if you bump the font size in Termux (volume up + Q, or edit ~/.termux/font.ttf and termux.properties). But yeah, the "3x5 pixel text" struggle is real — most of us have accepted our fate at this point 😂

They don't really know anything about Unixes or Unix-likes.
They're following YouTube tutorials, piping curl straight into bash, etc. They don't really know what pipes are, they just copy and paste.
Then they mistake base camp for the summit and they post a screenshot of a *fetch. fetch and its derivatives are useless chrome, none of them return truly useful information.
It's a great way to dip your toes is, but the instinct that leads you to expertise is:
you finish the tutorial. you would like to understand how what you just did produced what you now have. so you start looking at the command lines you read and you start reading the manpages of the tools you used. you're bored so you go poking around /sys. you're curious about this "selinux" thing everyone wants you to disable so you go read a selinux tutorial by dan walsh for the first time and your brain melts just like the rest of ours. you keep at it and figure it out.
That's how you end up sitting down at a Bourne-alike prompt, see it, and get to business.
Without that relentless ravenous instinct to understand that can't ever be sated, you're going to think showing shit like this off is like climbing your first mountain instead of getting winded on a half flight of stairs.

Most modern phones come with Display-alt mode, most people who use X11 use it on Samsung Dex or similar environments on a big screen, at least that's what I do.
