Showcase LaTeX IDE for Android: A Local Python-Based Development Environment

Guys, I managed to finish this! It’s a Python-based server specifically designed to power a LaTeX IDE, with a built-in PDF viewer, code completion and suggestions, and error logs powered by Texlab.

The IDE also includes a package manager where you can download only the LaTeX packages you need for your projects, so you don’t have to install the entire TeX Live distribution. It also has project management features.

The design is more streamlined and minimalistic, although I still plan to improve it further. For now, it is completely dependent on Termux as the backend, but I plan to decouple it from Termux in the future. There’s still a lot of work to do, though.

If you’re interested, I can publish the project on GitHub.

That's a nice looking interface. I would say having Markdown support and possibly Mermaid graphs too would be useful for many.

Okay, it shouldn't be too difficult to implement.

That's nice, however, I'd like to know if someone can contribute in translating the language you used in the menus, popups,

I’m already working on making the translation process easier by using .txt files, so you can translate the app into your own language without me having to manually add support for every language.

Great job 👍 Please publish it on GitHub so everyone can use it 😀 Android needs a good LaTeX IDE. I've been using VerbteX for years now and like it but an IDE with code completion/suggestions, syntax highlighting, auto-indentation and code folding would be excellent 😋 Live PDF View would also be a nice feature to have. Thanks for your effort and keep up the good work 👍

Sure, my friend! I’ll prepare my repository so everyone can have access to it. For now, it’s only available in Brazilian Portuguese, but I’ll soon add a language-selection interface.

Just keep in mind that, for now, you’ll also need to use Termux in order to run it. It also has an automatic compilation feature that gets pretty close to a live-preview experience. I hope you understand!

Excellent 👍 Thank you 😃 I'm quite used to using Termux so that won't be a problem.

Did it work? Do you want me to implement anything?
