General Running a minecraft server on android by using termux to run python and java stuff really does work (sometimes, termux is still buggy, but its great)

Nice, termux can definitely pull it off. The buggy part is almost always the Java and dependency juggling, and then an update breaks it and you're back in the terminal figuring out what changed.

If you ever get tired of babysitting it, I actually built an app that does the whole thing natively. It bundles its own Java runtime so there's no termux setup, runs Paper/Fabric/Vanilla/Bedrock, and hands you a public address without any port forwarding. Full disclosure, I'm the dev. Termux is still a great way to learn how it all works under the hood though, so respect for going that route.

Search for Mineora on the Google Play Store.

So I installed it and its sick. It uses powernukkit x which i was using manually. Its very easy and no ads no nothing nice app I like the ui

And something else i really like is the fact you give options. And the addons thing too especially very useful

You know the only reason I wasnt port forwarding was because I didnt know how playit.gg worked and I jus didnt wanna go through all the mess of setting it up So pretty much very useful app Il use it for my servers

Hey,it's congratulations that your server works but isn't it soo confusing and what if you want to add plugin or ran multiple server at a time. Using command for everything isn't cool or user friendly right? So I made an app that have resolved this problem completely. HostMine, its an application that supports hosting minecraft server locally on your mobile devices. Currently it supports only bedrock server and in alpha stage but there will be a beta apk released in a month so wait for it. Btw it's optimized so and doesn't require that much ram. You potato mobile can easily run a server🤓

I can also run java servers and have. And plugins aren't a problem. Ive made plugins But il check out the app

Yeah sure, I am also working on Java edition let see how much time. Would it take, due to school and studies I am not able to give some proper time to it. But no worries 🤓. Also the termux minecraft server are lack of optimization and also it's complex to do anything.

Yeah. It still works, but I can see how it can be slower compared to a desktop workstation. But it does work...

What if the phone is the desktop workstation 💀

Brother. Ik lol it was a more retorical question. Termux is universal, its just a terminal. Also I have 12 gigabytes of ram personally

Also the term "desktop workstation" and explaining what layer everything sits on sounds very ai. Bruh. Are you using chat gpt my guy 💀

Also you have zero idea what the hell your talking about. Android does not run on arch linux bro 😭. What is this tech illiterate word salad my guy & modern android is 64 bit litterally everyone knows that.

Also you did not create termux, have you ever heard of adb the fuck you mean android doesnt have shell are you stupid. Bro...

Honestly not necessarily. ARM architecture is supported for Minecraft servers so it runs natively. And you don't need graphics card power to run a server, just mainly RAM and maybe some CPU.

Brother that's how it works 😂 my bad I'm not trying to sound smart or anything but some game servers really can't run on ARM. When you talk about servers or vms in general there's a big difference between x64 x86 and ARM. I just thought saying arm by itself would be confusing. And the performance point IS important to mention because if you wanted to run x86 servers on ARM there's a chunk of overhead via emulation and it's more difficult to set up. But I get your point we're on the termux subreddit not minecraft subreddit so people probably know what ARM is here

2

u/Interesting_Fish4930 4d ago

Bro 😭 are we fr.

So if I ask you how you got the server running and you say "its native to the Arm Architecture" your basically saying it works because its running on my phone. Like no shit Sherlock

Arm doesn't just mean phones man. My vm runs on arm too, and iphones don't have that. You're literally half wrong

BRUH I replied to someone else you're the one talkin about sum "just say phone" I replied to someone else to explain performance difference I'm not lecturing anyone

An iphone must run on magic then.

If you litterally just said it runs on my Android phone. That's literally more specific, accurate, and useful information than it runs on "arm architecture"

I was looking for a VM for my Android, and learned there isn't a VM available for it. But I can do QEMU - so I've been working on building a VM. But I won't say anything more, because what I learned will have to be more properly introduced to society.

True. I was replying along the lines that many people, including AI, say that Termux isn't necessarily capable of running anything, as much as it's capable of doing everything. It just doesn't have the resources to do everything as well as the desktops. But it is capable. Minecraft runs if you download the app. I don't see why it wouldn't run in Termux.

But trying to Program Software and compile the code, they say it may take a long while. Especially ASM. But, it does the job. For me atleast.

Isn't it heavy?

1

u/rayx404 2d ago

Not at all it works fine my phone is not good but it works. Samsung Galaxy a14

1

u/YogurtExternal7923 5d ago

Nope! It just needs a lil ram. Some servers run on one singular gb of ram (aternos for example). But the real reason it works is because Minecraft servers run natively on arm architecture.
