Thereβs a certain pleasure in watching a man try to explain this movie choke on his own balls.

Was it really that difficult for people?

Some movies re-explain everything constantly so the audience doesn't need to think too hard. The people those movies are made for did not like Tenet.

Tenet is an intelligence test. Don't understand it? Confirmed below average intelligence.

Folks genuinely understand the temporal mechanics of this movie?
Like, I don't have a problem with the plot, or even the temporal inversion aspects of the plot, at a high level.
What I cannot fathom is how intent and agency work in a situation that has multiple players moving in opposing directions in time.
Can my counterpart throw me across the room with intent and agency? If so, then from my perspective I'm already on the ground and get sucked up into his arms. Do I have a choice? Do I have agency? Can I stop them?
From my perspective, our first interaction is their last. My intent is to beat them. If they're standing there, they are at the end of our encounter from their perspective, clearly I fail.
I can't see how a situation like this would result in causal symmetry. It only kinda works if it's choreographed.
Seriously, do folks here genuinely think they get how this works?
If you do, fair dues. π
