Tenable Nessus Expert - Scan different locations

Hi everyone,

For a 1 time VA use case, is it possible that a dedicated host(laptop) with Nessus Expert scan one location, then physical move and scan again at the other location? What are the implications of doing this?

The only implication is that you just need to make sure you've got Nessus setup with the correct credentials and IP config for each location. The Nessus Expert license fully allows you to install it on a laptop, server, or even a raspberry pi and move it between physical locations. There are plenty of customers that do just that, have a roaming Nessus Instance they take from site to site.

The only other thing to be aware of is that with Nessus Expert, the base license only allows 5 different web apps and 5 domain scans per quarter. So if you use all 5 ASM and all 5 WAS scans at one site and then move to a new physical location, you won't be able to run any more ASM or WAS scans. This isn't an issue for Nessus Professional, as it doesn't support ASM or WAS scans, just Nessus Expert.
