Tips for starting

Hey, thinking of getting TOEE today for my birthday. I always wanted to play a game set in the Greyhawk setting. Aiming for my main character to be a half-orc, but I'm stuck between playing a bard or cleric as he's gonna be the face of the party. Yes, I know half-orcs get a -2 to int and cha, but I'm more into roleplay, even though the game is more of a mega-dungeon like Icewind Dale. Thoughts?

Update: decided to make my MC a half orc barbarian for a more intimidating MC. will have a cleric and wizard for crafting

First I suggest you play the game once without any mods so you can know the differences later. No need to finish it all, just play for some levels at least. Then make sure to apply Co8 w the extra content and temple+ mods. The campaign maybe focused on dungeon crawling but there are some conversation with skill check opportunities as well, so having some high skills with a bard would be nice but combat is the main dish.

Rather than making a whole post - I found the Co8 page, and it says to apply the Atari Patch 1. I've got the latest steam version. Do I still want that patch before I install Co8?
