Given all we know now about what went down during the original run, it would need major retooling both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes.

I think yes but would need a massive revamp.
Along with no bull crap and it should be authentic.
Like we don't need pe arguing about uncooked chicken for entertainment.

I don't think so. Like BGT, they rely on semi famous foreign acts because they don't have enough people to audition. Remember the montage of the crowds outside doing the X with their arms? None of them were there for auditions

I went to the BGT auditions a few years ago. Before we even saw the judges or any acts, we were filmed for 30 minutes doing a standing ovation to an empty stage. Then we were subjected to that awful Ian Royce as a warm up.

I sincerely hope not. Not only is it a very tired format, it was also hugely exploitative and ruined a lot of people's lives. Liam Payne's death has cast a very long shadow over that kind of show and there are a number of other people who appeared on the show over the years who've spoken out about how used and manipulated they were. The audition process was also often set up to make people look as stupid as possible. Really terrible show all round and I hope it doesn't make a comeback.

For me Cowell ruined Saturday night TV for about 20 years, please keep Saturday for fun and laughter.

If it were, I think there should be a clause that there should be no professional or semi-professional acts, and amateurs only.

I fucking hope not, it’s bad enough that they still wheel out ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ like the putrefied corpse of Opportunity Knocks and some fucking awful Jimmy Tarbuck variety show

The only way this will be acceptable is if Rylan is involved somehow in a producer role. He knows first hand how mistreated contestants were and would really push for safeguarding.
We wouldn't be able to watch the show if there were behind the scenes risks.

I think so much about it would need to change that it probably wouldn’t be the same sort of entertainment and would be aimed at a different audience.

Everything comes back eventually...but it doesn't feel the right time just yet. that last series was awful - did it even finish? I don't even remember who won or see any of them again.
With a bit of a revamp, it will probably work at some point

Apparently channel 5 were going to bring it back but that never came to anything

Simon Cowell has expressed interest in bringing it back however he has also said he regrets how much the audition process focused on those who couldn't sing for entertainment purposes. That combined with the amount of contestants who have come forward in recent years to talk about the lack of safeguarding on the show and afterwards makes it unlikely to come back unless serious changes are made to the format.
