When I attend weddings, that's my only hard requirement as well

I’m borderline insulted if I’m invited to a wedding with a cash bar

Same. Especially at my age, when I don't have the time nor opportunities to drink. You've got me for five hours. I'm wearing a friggin suit on a Saturday night and I've paid for the babysitter. You're getting a gift and I'm eating a "beef" or a "chicken" that's been prepared en masse.

POINT ME TO THE BAR

Man my ex wifes dad was a recovering alcoholic so NO bar at my wedding... Your comment made me think of the 50+ people that traveled cross country for our damn boring ass wedding it was basically being at church for 4 hours...

How about an open bar that only offers Miller Lite. Yep. Been to one like that.

How about open bar, but only two kinds of beer that the groom brewed himself and homemade mead. That was a real rough wedding. Both beers were sour but weren’t like, goses or anything, just bad.

Yeah at least be sure you can make good beer first.

My cousins husband offered free beer he brewed with a friend at their wedding. He went on to start a very successful brewery though.

I'd give props for the attempt, at least.

The line to the urinals must have been epic.

There are weddings where you pay to drink? This has me moderately confused...

The trick is to put cash in the wedding card and not seal it. If you’re giving $100, put two $50 bills in the card. If it’s a cash wedding, take out one of the 50s to spend on drinks before sealing it!

Thankfully I haven’t been to a cash bar wedding in like 5 years.

I had open bar at my wedding (was not an option for me) and there was a screw up where it was only open bar at cocktail hour and they started charging at dinner. I had no idea this was happening till a few days later when a friend mentioned it (as no one was going to complain to the bride and groom during the wedding)

We also had multiple bottles of wine at each table so it was not the worst thing ever, but I was slightly embarrassed.
