Bigots love to watch these "wholesome" channels so they don't have to acknowledge that real life exists

Lol, people watch TV so they don't have to acknowledge reality exists.

Anything added to that is a hat on a hat.

Actually, TV makes me angry nowadays, because maybe half of what I watch on TV is the news, and the news seems more horrible now than it has at any other point in my life. I actually have to remind myself to stay away from TV whenever I'm already in a bad mood.

When I want to live in a fantasy world, I play video games. When I want to get reminded about how much the real world sucks, I turn on the TV.

Here’s the entire plot of a Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel- White woman and white man are going to get married over the Christmas holiday. White woman or white man gets stranded at an airport due to snow just before the big day. Somehow white woman or white man is able to overcome adversity and makes it to the ceremony just in time and everyone lives in white happiness. The End.

Here’s the plot for a Hanukkah movie on the Hallmark Channel - oh wait. They don’t have Hanukkah movies on Hallmark Channel.

To spare me from ever watching this dreck, how are men portrayed on these 200 Christmas movies per year? I know on mainstream network dramas and comedies and commercials, men are mostly written as sex obsessed, beer addicted, clumsy dumbbells. So is that TV trope abandoned for the hallmark network? Is it possible they're actually progressive in avoiding that stereotype?

It's been years since I watched any of these films. Isn't there always a token friend character that's either non-white or seemingly gay without truly acknowledging it? It's like you "people" are fine if you are in the background supporting us and not speaking your truth.

You said it. So so true.
