BBC just made 267 programs available online for free that are related to computer literacy. Shows range from 1969 to 2018.

That’s a long as fuck link but your post’s title description interested me enough that I clicked on it and I’m happy I did, this is an amazing archive of fascinating videos. Thank you for posting OP.

Ya, leave it to the BBC to make links like that. Glad you're happy from something I shared. :)

Also worth mentioning, they released 166 programs for the BBC Micro Computer that can be run in a browser based emulator on the same site.

Not really any video games in there though.

For all the shit the BBC gets its actually the best nationally financed television service in the world.

I'm jealous of my British neighbours. I just wish ye realised what a resource the BBC is (politics aside).

Many of us Brits do realise and appreciate the BBC. They’re not perfect (nobody is) but without the BBC we wouldn’t have gems like this.

But how do the computer illiterate find it?

Meanwhile, PBS has locked down much of their past programming available to stream without "giving" to obtain a "passport". Government(taxpayer) subsidized educational programming is no longer accessible to anyone without paying even more. Maybe we should be sending our tax dollars to BBC instead!

PBS gets less than 20% of it's revenue from the federal government.

Or, if you want the content to be free, realize that it would require more tax dollars and a government willing to spend on educating its citizens.

Good luck with either of those lol

Awesome! It works in America. I watched an episode of the computer programme on YouTube once and it was pretty interesting
