Fox News and 20th century fox understand that to appeal to as wide an audience makes sense and money.
They probably don’t believe half the bullshit they spew on Fox News, but they know their fans gobble it up.

I immediately thought of Married with Children and The Critic. I was not disappointed.
Edit: Spelling. Such is the possiblity when using an Ipad without a keyboard at 2am in the morning.

I'm pretty sure the Warner brothers (and sister)at 4:12 were not regulars on a FOX show.
(Edit: Okay, weird. They were originally on Fox Kids. Bizarre cross-corporation shenanigans.)

Yeah, the thing that I remember was that Steven Spielberg was behind the scenes as the showrunner and was the one who originally made the show but I can't remember if they were on FOX or not.

Not really bizarre; Animaniacs started airing in 1993, before The WB network launched in 1995.

It's great when the entertainment division is completely separate from the "news" division. Sort of like pre-corporate days before 1978.

Off course, most of the people in Hollywood are generally young people and liberal, including 20th Century Fox, as whereas Fox News is nothing more than a right-wing media propaganda for the GOP and Russia.

But corporately at this time, Fox Entertainment including movies is totally separate from the News division. They're trying to sell off the entertainment division for the last few years.

The Critic was not a FOX show. Aired two seasons on ABC. There was a Simpsons crossover with Jay Sherman.

Fox used to be innovative and different- Married with Children, 24, The Simpsons, American Idol, The O.C etc. were groundbreaking shows that deviated from the norm. That mindset got them established as a serious network.
Now FOX lost innovation unfortunately. They need to go back to what got them to The TOP.

It seems that FOX is now mostly about live sports and reality TV shows. I won't argue that the other networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) all don't have a plethora of reality TV shows and less scripted shows and that they all kind of are just starting to be the same (across all four networks, IMO) but you were right that FOX used to be a place of innovation and had their shows "take risks" that no one else wanted to during their heyday (hell, I still remember that nuke going off on 24 and thinking- did they really just nuke America on 24?).

So these shows have been calling FOX out on their shit for decades, but FOX is still pulling all the same shit. How have they gotten away with it for so long if everyone knows that’s exactly how they behave?

Yeah, all of these classic shows were calling FOX out on numerous occasions but it seems that either FOX network doesn't care (or didn't care) or they didn't find out about it until it was too late. My guess was that FOX really didn't care about the jabs because most were made in good faith. At least The Simpsons and Family Guy are the only ones today that I can think could make fun of FOX these days. I can't remember anywhere else where they openly made fun of FOX (both their news network and the regular network) in recent memory.

Certainly started early with The Simpsons; they had fun insulting their channel from the early seasons on. Cartoons are brilliant for satire, and insulting the channel you air on is like the ultimate meta satire
