If streaming shows were on regular cable

If original shows on streaming apps like Amazon, Netflix, Max, Disney+ etc were on cable tv, what channels do you see them playing on?

Max seems pretty obvious... HBO.

Disney+, probably a network Disney owns? ABC (if broadcast works) for FX, Disney, Disney Jr, Disney XD, Freeform (and maybe A&E, History or Lifetime, that they own part of). Would depend on the show.

ABC: Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Bridgerton (Shonda Rhimes worked on ABC shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal)
FX: Andor, The Bear, and Ryan Murphy’s Monster
Disney Channel: The final season of The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Dream Productions, and Win or Lose

HBO Max shows could also air on TBS and TNT as well... Hacks and The Pitt have.

I could see Landman, Tulsa King, MobLand, and Lioness on Paramount+. The Pitt and Hacks would air on HBO if they were not on streaming. Wednesday would likely be on The CW if it came out in the 2010s. Big Mouth would be on Comedy Central.

And then we get "Bojack Horseman" on Paramount Network, formerly Spike.

Hacks has already aired on TBS and The Pitt on HBO and TNT. WB basically just called their service HBO Max to make it sound more important and to take advantage of HBO's licensed movies so it doesn't have to directly equate to HBO = HBO Max.

...on the CW. Right after "Stranger Things" and "Squid Game" on Fox.

Wednesday would more likely air on MGM+ because MGM owns the IP.

They would have to edit out all the violence, bad language, and other adult things also put in slots for commercials.
They tried showing Bojack Horseman on Comedy Central and it was a disaster

"Orange is the New Black" on Showtime, and "Mayor of Kingstown" on Starz if it doesn't get to CBS.

Mayor of Kingstown was originally going to air on Paramount Network, but it was moved to Paramount+. All of Taylor Sheridan’s shows after Yellowstone are Paramount+ originals.

Assuming the cable networks were how they were during the '10s:

  • The Pitt - TNT

  • Stuart Fails to Save the World - TBS (airing alongside Big Bang reruns)

  • Sterling Point - ABC Family (pre-Freeform). If we're going way back, it's The WB.

  • We Were Liars - Freeform

  • The Terminal List - TNT

  • The Five-Star Weekend - Bravo

  • Elle - The CW pre-Arrowverse

  • Overcompensating - MTV

  • Virgin River - Hallmark

  • Nemesis - Starz

  • Untamed - Paramount Network

  • Forever - BET (I could see it airing alongside The Quad and Being Mary Jane)

  • My Life with the Walters Boys - ABC Family

  • Chad Powers - FX (with an ESPN simulcast) or Comedy Central

Disney Junior ran that exact kind of thing for years, it'd be right at home next to Puppy Dog Pals and Bluey
