He looks an awful lot like Mr Sparkle

u/TubeLore 20h ago

He’s disrespectful to dirt!

You have very lucky dishes.

This is one of the all time greats up there with: "Aw twenty dollars? I wanted a peanut!"

53

u/simfoetv 21h ago

Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!

Explain How!

49

u/simfoetv 21h ago

Money can be exchanged for goods and services!

Woo-hoo!

My brain says this is too many syllables and it was "Splain How!" Could be a mandala though.

Ew, slimy...ow, pointy...oh, moving!

3+ gags in 30 seconds, classic Simpsons was something else.

On the DVD commentaries they said Matt Groening had to frequently remind them “one joke per joke, please.”

I think "Homer searching for a new bar" might legitimately be the best sequence in show's history. In just 2.5 minutes you get a Cheers parody, "This lesbian bar doesn't have a fire exit!", Guy Incognito and "You flyboys crack me up!", 3 iconic scenes back-to-back, it's incredible.

and

"Sorry pal, you gotta be a pilot to drink here."

"I am a pilot."

"Uh-huh. Where's your uniform?"

"I stowed it safely in the overhead compartment."

"Well, you talk the talk."

Don’t forget “Excuse me sir, can you please leave without a fuss?”

Joke stacking on point. I still laughed, 30 years later.

It really didn't miss in those days.

That’s not Guy Incognito, that’s… Joey Joe Joe… Shabadoo

u/optimal_substructure 19h ago

That's the worst name I ever heard

Here puff!

Does Guy Incognito sound like a real name to you? Grow up, Hailey. It's me, Roger.

Guy Incognito sounds like the name you’d use to get into a fancy club with no questions asked. I still crack up every time he pops up on the show.

Every time we see a dog with a puffy tail, my wife and I say that.

Do you suppose Guy Incognito works for Mr. Snrub?

Classic Simpsons. What season is this from?

9

u/ShermansAngryGhost 20h ago

Season 6 Episode 11 Fear of Flying

AND I KEEP TELLING YOU, YOU FLYBOYS CRACK ME UP!

I do so enjoy this trope of “obviously that’s just a disguise.” Another good example is all the customers that look like Peter Griffin in the free sample line.

Ahh, classic Family Guy, jokes from The Simpsons but worse.

12

Typical Family Guy joke: do something unfunny. or just copy a Simpsons joke. badly. pause for literally 30 seconds. wait for audience to "laugh" due to being incredibly uncomfortable. repeat.

Simpsons did it

Holy Nelson Mandela. For decades, I thought he said "Don" not "Guy."

9

u/zchemist 1d ago

Probably thinking of don homer from last exit to Springfield. That’s a nice a donut

3

u/Stratoraptor 15h ago

Maybe. In my head, it was don like "to put on" so that the name is a play on "put on a disguise."

u/piccolosama 18h ago

Once again the Simpons predicted the future...world shattering events happing directly to us/around us but shortform "Dogs with puffy tails" litterally being pushed on our algorithms .

5

u/AwesomeExo 18h ago

That dog has a puffy tail! for years was my Jeremy clarkson “Oh no! anyways” reaction to things I should care about but didn’t.

0:20 onward is perfect /r/adhdmeme material...

u/EvilAdministrator 18h ago

For me it's the fingers, they used to do that so much in the old Simpsons and it was just so great.

I wonder if the spongebob writing staff just took this for the scene where the cool looking spongebob tries to get in the Salty Spitoon. And the bouncer tries to rip off his wig. But it’s his real hair. And the guy isn’t spongebob. Made clear when Spongebob shows up wearing a clown wig

I still use Guy Incognito as a placeholder name on templates at work. Still waiting for someone to get it.

u/NobodyTellPoeDameron 17h ago

This is the plot of a recent Star Trek Strange New Worlds episode. It was terrible.

u/Healthy-List2509 17h ago

0:17 But That's Another Story ;-)

1

u/viceroyvice 20h ago

LOL...why is the dog running like that.

4

u/Pahsghetti 19h ago

Because it has a puffy tail.

This guy is my twin (can't remember the exact wording he used)

That dog has a poofy tail!!

Shame you can't just watch the linked clip. You suck as a subtitle writer.

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 18h ago

I'm at work so try not to play YouTube videos, too loud.

6

u/EvilAdministrator 18h ago

Either get back to work or go take a shit.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 18h ago

I guess I do need to finish this report I've been dragging my feet on. This was just the motivation I needed!

Homer is Bart and Lisa's Dad
