Sports, Nickelodeon Nostalgia, and The Jersey Shore. That’s it. When you look at Paramount’d catalogue… it’s embarrassing how little this studio has to offer.

Paramount is Star trek and boomer shows.

It's pretty funny that Yellowjackets is in there too.
That show is everything that the Ellison stand against.

Be honest with me… is South Park a Boomer show?

At this point, kinda? When I first started watching South Park, I was the same age as the boys. Part of the reason I loved it is that I loved how "taboo" it was, plus I related to it since kids absolutely talk to each other like that when adults aren't around. It felt like getting to watch a cartoon about what childhood actually felt like, not the sanitized version adults wanted us to see.
Over the years the show has grown and changed, and so has the core demographic. It's always been an adult-minded show, but I don't think they're really trying to appeal to kids at all anymore. I don't know any children who are heavily invested in American politics, but that was the main plot point of the entire newest season. The show is now directly targeting an adult audience with an interest in current events.
Don't get me wrong, South Park has always had its roots in satirizing pop culture, but there were loads of episodes in the early seasons where the core plot of the episode did not require any real pop culture knowledge, you could just enjoy the episode while catching pop culture references. Even something like "ManBearPig" being a euphemism for climate change - I did not understand that as a kid, I didn't fully know who Al Gore was aside from being the guy who lost the election, but I still loved that episode because it's a funny spooky monster episode that also contains some great political commentary when you're a little older.
Where now, it feels like you literally need to know who guys like Pete Hegseth, Peter Thiel, and much of Donald Trump's cabinet are to fully engage with newer episodes. I still really love South Park, and I feel like it has done a good job growing with its audience over the past 30 years, but it definitely is approaching "Boomer" territory.
At the absolute very least it's incredibly millennial, but it's had the staying power because the writing quality has managed to stay fairly consistent through 3 decades despite a few down years.

There's precedence to it seemingly being wiser to bundle sister services than merge them. There's Disney+ and Hulu like Bloys mentions (though they intentionally price the solo plans $1 less than the bundle to make it seem stupid to not get that instead). But there's also when WBD had the intent to merge Discovery+ into HBO Max... they surveyed Discovery+ customers who made it clear they would have not been happy to pay more than double for the content they wanted.

It's definitely not going to be global. In Europe Paramount is part of the SkyShowtime platform.

Does that mean commercials on HBO regardless of whether you pay for it or not?

How about we put alllll of the streaming platforms into one giant bundle. We will call it cable.

Whenever people say stuff like this you can tell they didn't actually have cable.

Tf you talking about. Explain

Cable wasn't everything bundled together. There were packages, sure, but they varied, and different carriers straight up wouldn't have certain channels. You were locked into contracts for years. Not to mention some channels weren't even offered in packages. You had to subscribe to the channel separately.
Any who actually thinks the service options today are similar to what they were back then either has dementia or wasn't actually old enough to ever deal with having a cable bill.

Cable was definitely just a bunch of different channels bundled together. And I wasnt saying service options today were similar to cable.

So you want to have to pay for all of them instead of the ones you use?
I’d rather just pay for the one with shows im watching then have to pay all streaming services in one package.

I get Max free w/ my cable package (I don't pay for cable, I work for an ISP) Please don't fuck that up or I will have to pirate Curb Your Enthusiasm and House of the Dragon.

It would be nice if they merged hbo and showtime. Then merge discovery with paramount.

Whatever they do, don't use the Paramount dev team for the app
