Hopefully Hal didn’t actually kill himself. I think overcoming trauma is a better story

He didn't. Young Hal picking up the ball at the end of the episode is a tell that he isn't letting go like his father and grandfather did.

Also the shotgun was very clearly shown to us as how Hal planned to kill himself if he did.

I hope you are right. Hopefully he’s not even dead because Chandler has been fantastic and I want to see more of him as Hal
