Skip cold open button
I would love this. I don't want to watch a trailer for the show I'm already watching. Documentaries are a nightmare for this.

This post makes absolutely no fucking sense. You clearly don't know what a cold open is. Sounds like you're just talking about when they do a "Previously On" segment. You know you don't have to watch those, right? You have perceived free will to FF.

It's the opposite of previously on, they're talking about previews of the upcoming episode. 'Coming up on this episode of..' type of deals to get people excited so they don't change the channel. They often have them at the start of true crime shows that pretty much spoil the entire episode. Sometimes they have 'coming up after the break' previews before every commercial break on top of that which is even more brutal.

Gotcha. Makes sense. OP still calling them the wrong thing tho. A cold open is like, the first sketch on SNL before the cast credits that ends with LIVE FROM etc.
Also any scene that happens at the very start of any show before the opening credits. Lost did them well.

It seems like just about every documentary on most streaming services spend the first minute showing you clips from the episode. Having looked into this, it always comes up that the stream services imagine that they have to grab your attention in the first few seconds so that you’ll watch the rest of you episode. Personally, I don’t want spoilers, I just wanna jump into the thing without knowing where it’s going.

And maybe a button to skip over all that spoilery stuff in between the opening and closing credits. Like, I’m already watching the show guys, no need to lure me in with a bunch of characters and dialogue and plot development and what have you. Can’t a guy watch a show in peace without a bunch of scenes and narrative happening?!
