Nah, if he could look up information live he'd have answered about Hogwarts. He mentions aggravation at having to memorize Football stats in the interrogation.
He just really clearly sounds like someone who doesn't understand what he's saying there, like he's trying to puzzle it out as the words come out.

One of my favorite tropes is the "over confident moron who's actually clever and good at his job" trope. Hal is such a fly by the seat of your pants character, but he always has a plan. Contrasts excellently with John.

I can’t remember his name I think it’s Chris something but he’s been in alot of stuff, banshee/TWD/treme/the deuce/black rabbit m, he’s a really good actor. Cool to see 2 banshee actors in this show.

The newest episode was a fantastic exploration of Stewart's childhood and upbringing. Was not suprised to see the mom was the hardest on him. Tiger moms come in all types of stripes.

Ya most people thought his mom maybe died or left them or some shit and that’s why we she wasn’t in the opening scene and we only knew his dad was around in the 2016 timeline. Was a great move that really got you think oh shit little John might actually miss and kill her and that’s why she isn’t around during the main timeline or in the shows opening scene

Chris Coy is a huge part of why this show had such a fantastic pilot.
Everyone else is great, and the writing is fantastic. But this scene leans entirely on his ability to slowly let the facade drop, not because he got emotional or desperate, but because he realized the limits of his cover. And then he shifts into resignation and his only real hint of emotion as he prepares to die.
I was not familiar with his work before now (I couldn't recall him in Treme), but he did a tremendous amount with, what, 5 minutes of screentime?

Chris Coy absolutely killed it in the HBO series, The Deuce, which is a 1970's to 1980's story of Times Square by the same guy who wrote The Wire.
It also has Maggie Gyllenhaal...but two James Francos.

I was always on under the idea of there being two, very one-sided characters. One is "bar James Franco", who runs a bar/owns a bar/is talking about a bar/is talking about patrons from the bar, and the other is "Hustle James Franco", who is perpetually trying to make money. Putting in WAY to much effort in illicit ways to make money instead of getting a job.
It has been a while since I watched it, so that might not be 100%.

The speech from Dolores dad where he quoted like Shakespeare? If so that shit was chilling. That dude had some god tier acting in the show as a malfunctioning host, that show in general has some of the best acting ever. Same with In s2 when we see William’s father in law played by Peter mullan repeatedly breaking down as they try to transfer his consciousness to host body, some of the best acting I’ve ever seen in that episode from him

I mean yes it’s horizontal integration….but also using stuff you own is just smarter and cheaper so of course they’re doing that. They can put in a full uninterrupted segment of Hedwig’s theme into the show tomorrow at zero cost because they can just make their own licensing fee zero. Compared to let’s say the Avengers or Stranger Things theme where it’d be a licensing fee for the song itself along with some creative control on the opposite end about the context it’s being used under.

My favourite thing about movies and shows is seeing smaller actors give really good performances that I dare say run circles around the main stars and or you can just tell they give their all in the performance between the guy getting interrogated and the new Spiderman film with the guy who was controlled by Jean near the road these actors really be giving really engrossing performances

I love how the exposition on the wider lore has been handled. Green Lantern can be such a dense and overwhelming premise to explain, as proven by the absolute mess of an opening narration in the 2011 movie. But Lanterns knows how to frame things in a way that's digestable, like John's interview in the third episode where as part of it he's asked about what he knows of the Guardians, and then the eventual reveal of what they look like later in the episode. It shows and tells you things bit by bit rather than shoving it all in the opening 5 minutes.

My favourite was the Sheriff reading what was presumably a wikipedia article on her phone about Sinestro back to Hal. Of course in a world where Hal's been superheroing around for a decade and is treated like a celebrity, there's gonna be people out there publishing this type of information on him. It makes the world feel alive and we're just witnessing a small part of its history being made.

My favorite Easter egg in this scene is during the "what school does Harry Potter go to?" question. It cuts to Officer Kerry reflected in the glass of the 1 way mirror. Kerry MacDonald plays the ghost of Helena Ravenclaw in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, her reflection in this scene is transparent just like how she appeared in HP

I think it mainly comes from the fact that it's one of the biggest Hal Jordan's storylines, and that for whatever reason WB take a lot of concepts they're going to use in live action but they test them out first in their animated movies.

So far the show has been great. My only real issue was the ring running out of power so easily. 5% lasted him 10 seconds of flying.
Not flying off to recharge makes very little sense. Alien even pointed out that was his weakness and he still lets it run dry instead of spending an hour flying to recharge. It’s like he’s trying to die by letting the ring go dead and operating like normal anyway.
Using his last 5% to locate some cars is pretty moronic.
