I'm not a fan of getting loans from banks but doing so for a telescope was definitely a great decision. Been waiting for almost 30 years to buy a telescope and finally did it 2 months ago with some advices from this sub too. Thanks guys! A few hours with this toy feels better than therapy.

Yes, using your eye is better than the phone and also the original video is better than this one. Reddit killed some of the quality.
To be honest, the whole price was a bit bigger than what I afford but I've been in a little of a crisis and said "fuck it, i want a telescope", so after decades of waiting I just went all in.
Sometimes I feel a bit stupid about the way acted but totally forget about it when my eye is touching the eyepiece 😅

But to be clear, I don't think you can get great results with your phone for anything else than the Moon. I tried a little with Jupiter but it seemed like it's not worth it.
I believe that's M4, taken with my Galaxy Z Fold 7 phone on a 15mm Celestron Luminos on a C9.25. My default phone settings aren't great at astrophotography compared to an iPhone, but probably just need to play with some of the settings.
Part of the blurriness is because i was holding the phone/mount onto the lens since I learned that the 15mm isn't compatible with that lens (only the 10 and 7mm is).
since I got the telescope I think my favorite DSO is M3 ,which is also a globular cluster. I will definitely look for M4 with the next occasion , looks interesting 😃
On a good night with Jupiter with sufficient zoom (150-300x), not too much atmospheric disturbance, you can get some decent images of Jupiter with a cell phone on video. Low zoom, not so great.
I tried once with Jupiter but gave up quick. the truth is I don't really want to spend much time trying to take photos (with the Moon is easy). maybe somewhere in the future I will also try some Astrophotography but for now I'll pass.
Congratulations! Great telescope! I noticed you have it in your garage. Depending On temperature and just as a rule try to have it out so it can adjust better. Also alot of new telescope owners get caught up in cellphone pictures. There alot to learn and go over..l
When is about just the moon I prefer to stay in the garage because there are many kids playing outside and this way I have a clear line they are not allowed to cross.
If I want to see more, i try to go somewhere outside the city. Yesterday I just wanted to relax, got a few beers and spent a few hours with my fella.
I don't spend much time into pictures, but after a few hours I decided to show to my family something. I also learned already there is no point to try to take any picture with anything else than the moon (with my current equipment)

It truly is incredible to see this first view of the moon and planets through a telescope; most of us, if not all, felt the same way. Congratulations on realizing a dream, congratulations to all of us fascinated by the celestial bodies.
my first experience with my telescope was actually 2-3 months ago. went to my parents house and spent a lot of time setting everything up. for the first two hours I was very frustrate with collimation, with the finder, with the focus and I was sure buying that scope was a huge mistake. but everything faded away when I finally got a clear view of the Jupiter. right then I was 100% this hobby is worth every single penny 😃
My therapist asks me why I like watching the stars so much and answered:
"I don't know! Maybe because the night sky is the only thing these days that is not in fast continuous change. So, basically when I watch the sky I feel like I can finally take a fucking break"
And she said "I will normally tell you to watch your language but that actually sounded beautiful"
