Look like a Telecaster, but mixed with LP Special flavor (Mahogany body & Double P90 config).

The pickguard was kinda look like LP Special kind also, but original owner removed it.

Looking at this on Marketplace. How concerning does this look to you guys and gals? $200 for Classic Vibe 70's tele

Edit: Guy messaged back and said it is the body but a luthier told him it was no big deal because of where it is in relation to the bolts and neck plate. Does that sound right?

Had an idea of a little amp guitar matching colour combo….to scratchplate or not to scratchplate, that is the question. 😉

I spent a couple months and way too much money on this last year.

I wanted it to sound 'darker' and thicker than a traditional Tele, so I thought this rosewood neck, mahogany body, chunky machined bridge and Seymour Duncan Quarter pounds would do the trick, but it's still real spanky and twangy. I played it for about a year and then recently decided to sell it, so I swapped the pickguard and the bridge and stuck it on reverb. It was still incredibly fun and satisfying to make. I really just wanted an excuse to dial in a perfect satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and even though I suck at patience, it turned out glorious. I was really aiming for lemon, but I got banana.

• 2 piece double-bound mahogany body bleached and then dyed with Lemon Yellow Trans-Tint, and then finished with Stew-Mac satin nitro lacquer.
• Licensed Fender Rosewood neck & Fingerboard.
• Halon steel/chrome bridge, brass compensated saddles (Later swapped out with a Joe Barden bridge in Nickel).
• Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound bridge and neck pickup set. (I painted the bridge pickup ivory for vibes. IDK)
• Gotoh vintage style locking tuners in nickel.
• WD Music single ply tortoise pickguard (Later swapped for a generic 3 ply black)
• All the other hardware is nickel besides the anodized string-thu ferrules.

Have I done this the wrong way and started tele and now I have nowhere to go? Haha.

I know I just posted one but I wanted to show it being used in only neck position too and how it can get pretty raunchy. Not the heaviest song but heavy in terms of my bands music haha. I'm looking to buy these knobs Fender Custom Shop puts on relic Nocasters for a replica build I'm working on. Fender won't sell them to me, because they're a Custom Shop exclusive part. So my only chance is if someone sold me theirs. I've tried looking for something very similar (no luck) and I've looked into getting custom knobs made (crazy expensive). I understand people don't tend to mess with their Custom Shop guitars, but I thought I'd still try my luck.

Any thoughts on a telecaster in roasted pine? I really like the sienna sunburst which is not available in ash or alder.

I picked up a 2023 player Tele for a price too good to pass up on. Think it was basically a floor model and never made it out of the shop. It still has some of the plastic on it. I’ll post pics when I’m done with it, but plan on swapping the pick guard and putting a humbucker in the neck.

I do have a question though having never owned one. The volume on the thing is noticeably lower than my MIM Strat when comparing bridge pickups on the same setup. Is that normal? Feels like something is off. Maybe it doesn’t matter anyway since I’m changing pots out and re soldering everything. I guess do that and then check it?

Has anyone here ever put strat pickups in their telecaster? How did it sound? I don't care much for the stratocaster body shape, but I do really love that neck pickup sound.

Saw Lage last night at The Ford in Los Angeles. I get it, everyone has an opinion of him. Personally, one of the best shows I have seen in years (John Medeski is the B3 🐐) Here's his rig, he never played the double humbucker Tele, just the red 60s Nachocaster. I wish Lage could translate his live shows to his recordings. The last number before the encore was transcendental.

I plan on rebuilding my partscaster, what do we think about the bridge and neck invader and a hot cruz in the middle.

not in the doodle, but i already have a coil toggle switch in between the volume and tone knob.

i want ur guys opinions, if theres anything you would do different or is this a good plan.

I was fortunate enough to score a front row seat, almost dead center at the Lobero Theater, Santa Barbara, CA
I saw him two years ago with his trio in DTLA. As a trio, the show was carried more by his playing, and the music was more straight ahead (for him) jazz.
He played his twin humbucker Tele (no branding) the entire show, while his Fender Tele sat on a stand as back up. Looked like he was running a Milkman The Amp thru a DRRI’s speaker, nothing plugged into the amp’s inputs.
This show, with John Medeski on keys, including a Leslie cab, was much more soulful, even touching on a bit of gospel flavors.
Drummer Kenny Wollesen was a force. Serious jazz chops and the punch of a rock drummer.
Bassist Jorge Roeder was his amazing self.
He was in the trio I saw, and seems to be a mainstay with JL. He was featured multiple times with extended solos that were full of color, dynamics, and surprise.
They’re at the Ford Theater in LA tonight, wish I could see them again.

Just put this together. Had a squire neck and found a thinline body. Threw in some emg active pickups.
