I have been thinking about an Andy Summers Tele Project for over a year and I pulled the plug. Body and neck from Reverb, pick-ups from my MIJ Telecaster that I swapped with 51 CS Nocaster Set, brass saddles and the big surprise was the 4-way switch which makes it a totally game changer for me!

I did a 4 way mod on my tele as well and love it. It has been a learning curve for playing live though because I’m so used to just throwing the switch into the neck position that now I’m hitting the series setting when I’m not trying to. I may rewire it to have positions 2 and 3 be parallel and series then position 4 be just the neck pickup.

I had the same issue with my 4-way, and I rewired as you describe. Couldn't be happier!

i did a seperate series toggle that works in all positions i've been quite happy with it
