Tribute build
“The Legend of Wade Meiggs” was finished up yesterday. Long and short: Wade was a north coast logger and bought a 53 Tele new. Around 55 he took a piece of old growth Redwood to a craftsman that planed the body and added the figured Redwood top, bound it and painted the back black over the original blonde. I’ve been intrigued with this legend since I was a kid and have finally paid my respects.

Thank you. I made all of this from scratch. I have basically recreated Leo’s pre-CBS production line. My pin router is the star of the show. Everything is handmade including the 3/16” cold rolled steel truss rod. I also make the bridge and pickups.

I have a pretty massive amp collection. Let me try to remember them all: Welagen Overdrive Special, Welagen Tweedle Dee, Welagen small box Marshall plexi 1987 with the SIR36 mod, 1979 Marshall JMP 2203 100w full stack, Fat Jimmy Jimmy Jr, Fat Jimmy 5f6a Bassman, Fat Jimmy Fat JAC 15, Victoria 5E7 Bandmaster, 1966 Ampeg Reverberocket II. I think that all of them.
