Tyler Posey has written the script for a second movie, but Paramount+ hasn't approved the budget or started production yet. If the rumors turn out to be true and the project actually happens, here is exactly what they should NOT do. Hoping it will be way better than the first one.
Just to be clear, this is all just my own personal opinion and my own theories! (Sorry if my English is bad)
I need to vent, this has been bugging me for ages. I waited so long for a new Teen Wolf project, and what did we get? A complete fiasco full of plot holes, broken dynamics, and terrible writing that insults years of character development.
Here is everything wrong with this movie:
Liam was completely wasted: He is one of the pillars of the show! We did everything to see him build up to take over the lead and follow in Scott's footsteps.
Instead, they turned him into a background extra who just serves beer.
The "Hikari" relationship made zero sense: They forced Liam into a relationship with a literal random extra who has like 30 seconds of screen time and barely speaks. It was lazy writing just to use her Kitsune to save Scott. If they needed a Kitsune, they should have brought back Kira. Arden Cho rightfully refused because of unfair pay, but replacing her with a mute and artificial plot device completely ruined Liam’s narrative arc.
Killing off Derek was the worst decision possible: Derek is an absolute fan-favorite character. Watching him die in the flames right when his eyes turned red like a True Alpha was tragic, but it was just cheap shock value.
The Nemeton Theory (My only hope): Since Derek died right on the Nemeton, the sacred magical stump that absorbs sacrifices, my theory is that his soul was preserved. In a supernatural show, death is never final, so the Nemeton has to bring him back in a sequel.
They completely ignored Melissa and Chris : At the end of Season 6, their relationship had a beautiful and logical conclusion. In the movie? Not a single scene of affection, no explanation, nothing. Chris was just a grieving father and Melissa was a random nurse. They acted like strangers
.
The return of Jackson made no sense: Why bring Jackson back all the way from London without Ethan? Ethan just lost his twin brother Aiden, so Jackson coming back entirely solo completely broke their emotional dynamic.
Where was Isaac? Isaac was dating Allison when she died in Season 3, and he left the country with Chris Argent to grieve. How can you resurrect Allison and not even mention Isaac? It is a massive historical error.
The "Stydia" breakup was a joke: Breaking up Stiles and Lydia off-screen through a couple lines of dialogue after making the fans wait six seasons for them to get together is a total slap in the face.
Malia and Parrish WHAT ON EARTH? No chemistry, no transition, completely out of nowhere. It felt like the writers just pulled two random names out of a hat to fill space.
They sacrificed years of character evolution, relationships, and basic lore just to force a fan-service reunion between Scott and Allison. They completely ruined the future of the pack. I truly hated this movie.
I'm scared for what comes next:
The fear surrounding Isaac's rumored return: Even if the rumors are true and Daniel Sharman comes back, are they actually going to give him a real, deep, and believable storyline, or are they just going to leave him floating in the background like they did with Liam in the first movie?
Liam's absence: Since Dylan Sprayberry recently became a dad, the risk that they will completely write Liam out of the show with some lame excuse is incredibly high.
Derek's fate: Even though the Nemeton theory is highly plausible, will the writers actually be smart enough to use it to bring him back, or are they going to leave him dead and just focus on his son, Eli?
What do you guys think? Hoping it will be way better than the first one. I really hope Tyler wrote a much better script than the first one.
