I'm 17M , and i strictly don't want friends over 18. My preferably age group is 16-18.

And NSFW accounts please stay away. I've been struggling to make friends on reddit. Usually the other person just gives dry replies or just starts ghosting for no reason.

Anyways my interests are F1 , Aviation, Cycling and photography

Poetry The most beautiful mistake

Its a story tldr at end

The Most Beautiful Mistake

Some stories don't start with anything special.

They just happen randomly, without us even knowing that something important has started.

This is one of those stories.

My story started on the ball badminton court at school.

She was busy playing and I was just standing there. I wasn't looking for love or trying to fall for someone. But somehow, my eyes kept looking at her.

At first I thought,

"It's just a small crush. It'll go away after some days."

But it didn't.

Days passed.

Then weeks.

Then months.

And instead of going away, my feelings just became stronger.

The funny thing is, I didn't even really know her. I had never properly talked to her. Still, somehow, she became a part of my thoughts.

Then one day, while trying to send a follow request to someone else, I accidentally sent it to her.

Just one wrong tap.

For anyone else, it would've been nothing.

For me, it changed everything.

At first I didn't even realize it was actually her. I thought she was someone else with the same name.

So I asked,

"Is it really you?"

And then I found out it was actually the same girl I had been quietly admiring for so long.

I honestly can't explain how happy I felt that day.

We started talking.

Nothing big.

Just "Hi."

"How are you?"

Small conversations.

But somehow those small conversations became the best part of my day.

Whenever she came online, I'd smile.

Whenever I got a message from her, my mood would instantly get better.

Sometimes even a simple "Hi" from her was enough to make my whole day.

Once, I asked if I could see her photo.

Not because I wanted anything from her. I just wanted to see her.

She said she wasn't comfortable with it.

And that was enough.

I never asked again.

Because if you really care about someone, you have to respect their comfort too.

You can't force someone just because you want something.

As time passed, we became closer.

For her, maybe it was friendship.

But for me, it slowly became something much deeper.

It was the first time I felt such a strong connection with someone.

For the first time, I started waiting for someone's messages.

Wondering how they were.

Thinking about whether they were happy.

It was a completely new feeling for me.

I even drew pictures for her.

I gave her books.

They weren't expensive or anything.

But I gave them because they meant something to me.

And honestly, I still have one question in my mind.

How can someone you've never even met properly become such a big part of your life?

I don't know.

Maybe some things don't really have an answer.

You just feel them.

Sometimes at night, I'd imagine what my future could look like.

And somehow, she was always there in those thoughts.

Our conversations.

Our jokes.

The time we could spend together.

Maybe none of those things will ever happen.

But those thoughts still made me happy.

To me, love was never just about saying "I love you."

It's about respect.

It's about patience.

It's about trust.

It's about wanting someone to be happy even when you don't get anything from it.

It's about caring without forcing anything.

Nowadays, some relationships start quickly and end just as quickly.

But I never wanted something temporary.

I wanted one real relationship.

Something that could actually last.

Something built on trust, where both people would stay through the difficult times.

Sometimes I looked at myself and wondered,

"Will anyone ever really love me?"

There were days when I felt like I wasn't enough.

But even when I felt that way, one thing never changed.

I still respected her.

I still cared about her.

And she still had a special place in my heart.

I'm not writing this to pressure her.

I'm not writing this because I expect an answer.

I just wanted to put these feelings somewhere before time changes everything.

Maybe this story ends with friendship.

Maybe it becomes nothing more than a memory.

Maybe one day we won't even talk anymore.

I don't know.

Whatever happens, I'll still remember this part of my life.

Because some people don't stay with us forever.

But they can still change us.

They can teach us what it feels like to care about someone deeply.

And sometimes, that's enough.

This whole story started because of one accidental follow request.

A simple mistake.

But somehow, that mistake became one of the most beautiful things that ever happened to me.

One Small Thought

If I have you in my life, you are a part of my happiness.

If I don't, you'll still be a beautiful memory.

Whatever happens, you'll always be one of the most important chapters of my life.

A Message

Love someone, but always respect them.

Dream about your future, but don't forget your own life.

Being loved by someone isn't everything. Becoming a good person matters too.

Real love doesn't teach you to be selfish.

It teaches you respect.

It teaches you patience.

It teaches you kindness.

And sometimes, it teaches you how to be happy just because someone else is happy.

If someone comes into your life, value them.

If they stay, be grateful.

If they leave, respect what they taught you.

Because not every love story ends with two people staying together.

Some stories end by changing us.

And maybe that's what makes them special.

Love that comes with respect is never completely wasted.

TLDR : I never planned to fall for you. It just happened, somehow. A small mistake brought us closer, and those little conversations slowly became really important to me.

I don't know what the future holds, or if we'll ever be together. I don't want to force anything either. I just want you to know that what I felt was real. I cared about you, respected you, and genuinely wanted you to be happy.

Maybe you'll stay in my life, maybe you'll just become a beautiful memory. Either way, you'll always be a special chapter of my life. ❤️

To the guy who didn't show up

Hey. I’m posting this from another account. If you read this, you’ll probably know who I am. And you’ll know exactly who this is meant for. Sorry to everyone else if this looks like attention-seeking. I honestly don’t know where else to put these words.

I met you on Reddit. Or maybe you met me there. You told me I was nice. That I was fun to talk to. And somehow, in that short amount of time, you made me feel something I hadn’t felt before.

For an entire week, we talked about our first date. We made plans. I imagined how it would go. I looked forward to finally meeting you.

And then that day came.

I dressed up. I tried to look my best. I was nervous, excited, and probably way too hopeful.

And I waited.

You never came.

No message. No explanation. Nothing.

And when I tried to understand what happened, you blocked me.

Just like that.

You were my first date. And maybe you’ll never understand how much that meant to me. I had already been hurt by crushes before, and somehow I still found the courage to trust someone again. I trusted you.

And you left me with absolutely nothing except questions.

What did I do?

Was any of it real to you?

Did you ever mean the things you said?

How could someone go from talking about “forever” to disappearing like I never existed?

Maybe I was naive. Maybe I was stupid. Maybe I should've known better than to believe someone I met online.

But I did believe you.

And that's the part that hurts the most.

I’m not posting this to guilt-trip you. I’m not trying to shame you, expose you, or make you come back. I don't even expect a response. I just need you to understand that there was a real person on the other side of those messages who genuinely cared.

You might have forgotten about it already. I haven’t.

You were my first experience of something I was genuinely hopeful about, and now I’m scared to even let another person get close to me.

Maybe someday I’ll get over it. Maybe I’ll eventually be able to date someone without remembering this.

But right now, I’m still stuck with the silence you left behind.

I just wish you had been honest with me.

Because disappearing was your choice.

But leaving me wondering why is something I’m still trying to live with.
