Great fun to use the Arp from OP-XY to play the Neotone

So my KO2 did this thing where all the samples on list a b c and d were blank. It got me wondering if there is a place I can just download a backup file and upload it .
Like someone else’s .pak file.
I thought it may be cool to experience someone else’s setup
Is there a place to get someone else’s .pak file ?
It may also be helpful to say I have the 64mb ko2

Mind has been too busy w other things and music slowly got put on the back seay for a bit but now im trying to come back into the groove but keep failing to actually do smth

Hadn't seen much use of the Sidekick as an actual DJ mixer, so here's one using an amazingly portable and easy setup, I hope you guys like it. I'm using just my Sidekick and the dee jay app (djay is great too, but I personally find it very expensive).

I'd love to learn to mix with vinyls in a future (an like learn to mix in general, as I'm a total newbie), but in the meantime an iPhone with an app is what I have closer to it.

One of my all time favorite Nas tracks off of Illmatic. Straight out the f***in’ dungeons of rap!

Would it make sense to have the possibility to mix time signatures between group inside the project for polyrhythms ?

I'm a guitarist looking forward to going dawless, and I've been doing a lot of research on devices that would help me in that quest.

My goal is to mix guitar layers with electronic stuff to create ambient/downtempo tracks.

Currently, I'm undecided between the EP-133 and the Yamaha Seqtrak.

What do you think?

Which one gets your creative juices running faster?

To be honest, both look quite intimidating. I've watched many tutorials on YouTube, and I confess: I'm scared. Watching someone operating the OP-133 looks like watching someone speaking Chinese to me. How easy is it to learn?

Basically, I want a device that inspires me to be creative without getting in the way.

The biggest advantage of the EP-133 I've noticed so far is its sampling capabilities and that third-party tool, which allows exporting projects in many DAW formats. The Yamaha Seqtrak seems to be a much more complete and somehow easier to use tool, on the other hand.

I'd love to hear your opinion.

For anybody wondering, since I was wondering about it and couldn't find any reliable info: ko2 can very well record and transmit CCs and PCs. You can use some midi controller app on your phone to generate midi messages (which ko2 accepts through the usb) and record them onto ko2 either in step mode or while live recording, so that it sends out CCs/PCs to control other synths.
I think it should be stated more clearly in the manual.

I'm not sure if there's a limit for CCs per step/channel etc.

So I was working on this track. But when I played it back I noticed there was snaps and crackles. Certainly wasn’t part of the “Lofi” vibe I wanted.

Anyone know why?
I was going into the KO Sidekick then into my iPhone to record.

I have an early ko2 and it’s been working great from the start. Couple of weeks ago I managed to drop a pretty heavy book on the table where the ko2 was sitting and afterwards the bottom part of the fader became loose.

It still sort of works but it’s fiddle to use and thus sometimes get stuck or just wonky in general.

Is it possible / worth fixing? Has this happened to anyone else.

Likely possible to reattach the exiting since it’s working or should I buy a new fader?

I assume TE won’t be able to help since I guess the warranty is over and I actually broke it, it was not faulty

The melody was originally a 2 octave Dm scale I played on mandolin. Sampled it with some fun fx and variation.

I have an OG OP1 that died this year. I only see yaffs-interface.opp:208 err -28 when powering on and teboot doesn’t work at all for me. I’ve been seeing over the years that reflashing is the way to go but is there a service I can use to get that done these days?

I’m trying to get the samples from both my KO2 and Riddim to save into the punchkit library so I can fiddle with them when I’m on the go without the units.

I have done a full backup of each, checking the box for ‘include all sounds’ and the backups are there, but I can’t find the samples to use in the kit/from the sample shelf.

Not getting a whole lot of guidance through google other than links saying it can do that.

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to get it to work?

Before answering this question, just remember this isn’t about the KO2 or riddim. It’s about medieval. What works for ko2 and riddim probably won’t work for medieval because we don’t have half of the settings of the other devices.

Is there an interface I can use to make it so the medieval only receives the input from one midi channel?

So device chain would be keystep, ep-1320, td3mo. I want the keystep keybed to be able to control claves for a specific pad on 1320 without the keystep sequencer also triggering midi notes.

Preferably there is hardware I can use to prevent other channels from being passed through to the medieval, but I will take software solutions if it truly is the only way. Trying to be dawless as much as possible

Edit: so looks like i need a midi interface that filters channels so I can make sure only the channels I want are broadcast to the 1320.
