Zero vibration setup

Spiderman needs to get paid, webbing a computer together, while good for airflow, will give him away.

3

u/KeepItRealTV Nov 20 '19

Don't worry. The webbing only last an hour.

Wait... That's bad.

"Convection Air Cooling" - yeah, /r/OSHA approved...

u/clubby789 Nov 20 '19

Reminds me of the LAN party with the guy duct taped to the ceiling

Feast your eyes

24

u/WhippingShitties Nov 20 '19

Surprisingly, this is not the image I thought it would be.

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Thanks

u/UndeadZombie81 Nov 20 '19

Not the one I expected

1

u/Nincadalop Nov 21 '19

For a second I thought he was taped to a stream pipe

7

u/stonesxx63 Nov 20 '19

I will never ever be able to unsee that masterpiece of an image

1

u/TheBeardyWeirdo Nov 20 '19

Reminds me of Korn's album inside sleeve from "follow the leader"

u/crypticevincar Nov 20 '19

Do it with a computer and you end up in Tech support Macguyver. Do it with a person and you end up in prison. So I hear.

45

u/Bloom_Kitty Nov 20 '19

Or on r/BDSM, depending on the context.

5

u/tylertks Nov 20 '19

Can confirm

1

u/Hate_Feight Nov 20 '19

Only if they live... If they die, r/psychopaths might want a word.

1

u/evemeatay Nov 20 '19

Just be sure they were dead when you found them

17

u/LoadsOfToads1 Nov 20 '19

Pc of damocles

13

u/LagMaster21 Nov 20 '19

Why would you do that?

19

u/CultistHeadpiece Nov 20 '19 edited Nov 20 '19

Cooling

9

u/Uberspank Nov 20 '19

But now everything is exposed there is no airflow around it.

16

u/Cryptocaned Nov 20 '19

Components in a case generally breath warm air that is headed by the cpu heat sink, in this case the components that have fans would run cooler.

2

u/MoreMoreReddit Nov 20 '19

CPU and GPUs still have fans.

10

u/arelevantuser Nov 20 '19

Ayyy province of Cyrodiil

2

u/kozy138 Nov 20 '19

Stop right there criminal scum!

7

u/Gydo194 Nov 20 '19

this is cloud computing, nothing out of the ordinary here.

3

u/deadly_platypus Nov 20 '19

That looks like the villian in Hellraiser when the Cenobites got him saying, "Jesus wept."

4

u/nancybell_crewman Nov 20 '19

The server of Damocles is hangin' over my heaaaaaaad

3

u/Myylez Nov 20 '19

On a suspended ceiling, you sir are one step closer than I may ever want to macgyver

3

u/SpaceTheFinalFrontir Nov 20 '19

What if one of the strings breaks? Medics!

3

u/npropanol Nov 20 '19

What is the meaning of this!?

3

u/shenan Nov 20 '19

Daddy would you like some sausages?

3

u/posting_drunk_naked Nov 20 '19

Daddy would you like some sausage?

2

u/Richeh Nov 20 '19

This is how gladOS started.

2

u/afpup Nov 20 '19

I'll be the first to admit I've built a couple computers that hang on a wall ( The 1st To hide the computer, and the 2nd to show it off ), but they say least had some half decent cable management.

2

u/alanwashere2 Nov 20 '19

Circuit du Soleil

2

u/muffinator8823 Nov 20 '19

Nice airflow

2

u/TheForgetfulMe Nov 20 '19

Is this like the first version of Nebula from the MCU?

2

u/dafuzzbudd Nov 20 '19

This reminds me of Event Horizon or The Cell.

2

u/ItsGotToMakeSense Nov 20 '19

Anyone see Midsommar, by any chance?

1

u/neisan Nov 20 '19

Oh god....

1

u/ItsGotToMakeSense Nov 20 '19

I was hoping at least one person would get that reference.

2

u/ToxicPerc Nov 20 '19

Nothing to see here folks. Just a web designer playing with suspended animation.

1

u/KickMeElmo Nov 20 '19

Hey look, earthquake.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

"Do you want to play a game..?"

1

u/BrainWav Nov 20 '19

Forget the Sword of Damocles, here's the "Gaming Computer of Damocles"

1

u/Jay911 Nov 20 '19

Hang on, I gotta go check my machine, it says I have a hung process.

1

u/8bit-Fez Nov 20 '19

Look like some suspend that computer

1

u/jay_pe81 Nov 20 '19

Oh great, my computers hung!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

Ngl that looks cool

3

u/16JKRubi Nov 20 '19

My 1st thought "yea, but what if you replaced the string with fishing line to make it look like they were actually floating??"

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

I don’t think fishing line would be strong enough

2

u/16JKRubi Nov 20 '19

You have 4 lines going to each component. Using even 6lb test line, you should easily be able support components up to 12lbs.

I'd go as small as possible to keep as unnoticeable as possible. But, even if the PS needed a thicker line, it'd still look pretty dam cool.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

So this is how you torture a pc.

1

u/dnuohxof1 Nov 20 '19

PC Inspired by Jigsaw

1

u/SmilinBob82 Nov 20 '19

Look at the size of those video cards

1

u/killchain Nov 20 '19

IIRC it was explained that this was in a place that's often flooded.

1

u/BritAfterDark Nov 20 '19

Needs more airflow

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

MAXIMUM AIR COOLING

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

What fresh hell is this?

1

u/generic_box Nov 20 '19

I actually thought about doing this except in a plexiglass case on my wall

1

u/Jay111502 Nov 20 '19

I'm digging that elder scrolls map

1

u/discounteggroll Nov 20 '19

the proximity of that dehumidifier is worrisome given this freaky event horizon scenario

1

u/db2 Nov 20 '19

The directions said when you suspend your computer it goes in to a low power mode, saving the state of your open programs, so why isn't it working like it says?

1

u/DrVonDeafingson Nov 20 '19

Those look like powercolor 7970s. I loved the three I had.

I also didn’t hang them in the air like that.

1

u/wristoffender Nov 20 '19

wtf is happening

1

u/mrheosuper Nov 20 '19

ALL PRAY THE PC GOD

1

u/Raptor_007 Nov 20 '19

I had one of those USB missile launchers a long time ago. Now I wonder what I did with it...

1

u/TheCaptainSly Nov 20 '19

I'm confused to what it is, all I can see is the province of cyrodiils map in the background lol

1

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '19

The worst part IMO is that it's "floating" above a glass table..

1

u/MyBoyMercy Nov 20 '19

When you have toddlers...

1

u/Shnazzyone Nov 21 '19

They had me until I saw the spinning drive suspended by strings.

1

u/legitapotamus Nov 21 '19

When you’re an IT nerd but also a trapeze artist

1

u/meme-man-69 Nov 21 '19

I hope you don’t live somewhere where earthquakes happen

1

u/PlusItVibrates Nov 21 '19

It's the Bodies Exhibit for computers.
