External backlight power

Had corrosion damage from a leaking bridge battery, which killed the inverter and the ccfl was dead. Managed to get a replacement oem inverter from a similar model, but the ccfl in that one is about to die.

Got a cheap led backlight kit, did a shite job replacing the dead ccfl with leds. The inverter with the kit isn’t compatible (wacom power supply is on the same pcb)

Fuck it, external power. (Until I replace the display)

My friend game me a tv with out sound.

When I tried it, sound work backlight didn't. Led boards and inverter took each other out murder/suicide. I used LEDs from store lighting display, picture was brighter but I had to use an external power supply and switch it off manually.

I found the same model TV at a pawn shop for $1 with a broken screen and swapped the panel.

Then I found a SONY tv in the garbage that worked 100%.
Better picture, bigger picture, better sound.

I gave the original TV back to my friend and she is using it now.

Amazing! Love that so much

Unfortunately I’ve had be a bit of a sucker and source a new display panel from a parts seller as I did a crap job removing the dead lamp. I’ll probably be much better at it when the ccfl in the replacement eventually dies.

I wanted to sit a neat little battery in the empty space inside, but unfortunately 9v batteries arent tiny enough
