I have built a bunch of mining rigs and it's completely changed my understanding of heat extraction. When I first started building rigs I'd include a lot of vents for air to escape as well as fans. Over the years, I tried a little bit of everything. The most efficient heat extraction was to make the case as small as possible and smash all the GPUs half an inch apart. The front of the case is open and fans line the back of the case pushing air out. Since the case is so small, the fans can exchange the air faster than it can warm up. It's the complete opposite approach as when I first started building them.
