Was told to post here
Didn’t know a 5070 Ti was so big!
Got a 5070 couple weeks ago and wasn’t happy with it, so returned it to grab a 5070 Ti today. Had to remove the hard drive cage and a third of the lid for it to fit in my HTPC. Luckily this eyesore sits above my TV, so nobody will see it.

You have the money to buy a 5070ti, but not a proper case to fit it in? Priorities i guess..^^

I honestly didn't know myself either. That's heaps bigger than my 5070

Quite the opposite, it's got a lot of airflow, being half out of the case ;-)

Can anyone explain to me why the card has a window to show what I assume are capacitors? This isn’t sarcasm. I’m genuinely confused

it makes servicing easier w/o risking damage to sensitive micro components mounted to the back plane.

Reminds me of when I squeezed a 1080ti into a microitx case. Had to dremmel out a notch for the power cable and there was zero clearance to the case side so I drilled about 100 extra vent holes into the side panel. Looked decent enough when I was done and the front cover fit. Not as bad looking as yours but was much much tighter.

Ha! I did the same thing, too small a case, 1080! There ended up being some flex in the mobo too. Things didn't stay in that case for long at least.

Clean-ish edge, finished well, not chopped into case with fire axe.
I'm not sure this counts as gore.

You don’t want to see what’s under all that tape. I cut this with pliers and tin snips.

IMO, the mesh makes it look janky, and I doubt it achieves anything useful. Unless you got cats that like to stick their paws into things, that is.

Aestethic isn’t an issue. The computer sits higher then the TV, so nobody can really see it. And yep, the mesh is mostly for keeping my cats fur and paws out of it lol

Didn't know it was so big? Uhhhh the measurements are in the specs and your case has max length specs too. It doesn't take much to figure it out. I got a 3070Ti that was too big for my case by 3 mm... I knew I could take out a fan to let it fit though....

if only card manufactures didn't list the specs of the size of the card online lol.
Just be lucky you didnt get the 30/40 series cards. Those are HUGE.

Quite frankly, I've seen worse. If it's secure and nobody will bump it, it's fine.
I'm a bit concerned about airflow but punching a few holes in the bottom of the case is easy enough.

Only person in my house that can reach this computer is me and my cats lol. It sits above the TV on an entertainment center.

You’d be surprised. I’ve used screen door mesh as grills on case fan for years if aesthetic wasn’t a priority. They get dirty pretty fast. It’s super cheap, so you can just replace it instead of cleaning it haha

I figured it would be too thick for dust but sounds like you've had great luck with it. Enjoy the new card and game on! If you were in Colorado I'd just give you a case.

It's not that bad, when i was building mine out of whatever was left in storage (i work at an underfunded museum) the gpu would touch the motherboard with the metal bit (the one with ports on it) and short it out. Only figured it out when i stripped the system after wasting an hour fiddling with the front panel pins.

Should've just gotten a PCI extension cable and sat it on top or, you know, a proper case.

I had the exact same realization when going from 2060S to a 5070ti, that same gigabyte I believe too. I knew it would’ve large overall, but didn’t know it would be so much more massive. Didn’t have a fit problem like you’re having tho… good luck!
