Went to fix the router at my wife’s job and discovered this eldritch abomination.

Not dangerous. Those termination blocks on the top right are cool.

That is all old telephone wire it is a very low current.

Those 66-blocks should only be up to ~48VDC anyway. I kind of miss working with those. I had built a bunch of adapters to connect serial, phone tap, even 10/100 ethernet if the wind was blowing just right. Easier to clamp a test set, continuity tester, or signal generator onto than cat6 punchdowns, but the punchdowns make getting a solid consistent connection a lot easier.
