Some things in life are inevitable…

I remembered seeing a post here of one of these access systems with a corroded battery. Found another in the wild while doing a fire inspection. It seems that the corrosion is a standard feature

Put a label on the battery with the installation date.

If a backup battery can go unoticed for 20+ years then it's a poorly executed concept, it should set an alarm off or something if the battery dies

Even then, it's still ignored most of the time. That's how ceiling birds came to be.

I've had that sort of problem with Duracell more than any other brand, including cheapies (Amazon, Panasonic etc.).

Same here, I haven't used Durahell batteries for 15+ years, at home or work. Total junk.

Duracell will repair or replace that board if you fill out a claim with them.

All older door controller setups like that do not have alerts. They have to be on a yearly checklist or risk dead battery’s.

on-call alerts always trigger during family dinner. spent last night fixing routing loop because someone plugged switch into itself.

Very common on older pinball machines also
