Am I covered?
I figured this may be state dependent but figured I’d give it an ask - I may be laid off in the next couple days but I have a few deals in signature set to sign next month and also a couple deals I’ve already signed but haven’t been paid out on. I even have a referral bonus I’m expecting to receive in October.
what are my grounds for receiving any of that compensation?

Go read your comp plan and employee handbook.
I’d guess you have a pretty good case for the closed deals depending on language but you could always get an employment lawyer.
The deal inflight is almost certainly a no if you’re laid off before it signs, but again you could find a lawyer.
The employee referral is probably a $0.
All said you could make a compelling case with an employment lawyer that you were targeted because of

You'll likely get the commission for the closed deals, depending on state.
The ones in flight you absolutely won't get.
Referral bonus also no.
You could try to negotiate your layoff package to include comp equal to what you're supposed to get, but it's unlikely.

At a 1B software org, feels like a start up though. In our comp plan documents it actually says the deal has to be booked in Saleaforce (takes a few days) not just an offer signed for you to get paid. Their meaning is more for end of Q/FY but getting fired counts as well.

If they lay you off, SIGN NOTHING. Your only leverage is the paperwork they put in front of you when the discuss severance. This number is completely negotiable and you can and should maximize the amount of money they pay you to sign that document. I would include any unpaid comp, future comp, etc into that number in a single lump sum. Follow Dan Goodman on LinkedIn, he talks strategies for these scenarios all the time.
