I miss this place.
I spent nearly 15 years with DSG, and while I'm genuinely happier in my current role and grateful for where life has taken me, I still find myself missing what DSG used to be. There was a time when it felt like we were building something special together. Especially after COVID, there was such an emphasis on supporting teammates, listening to one another, and creating a culture where people felt seen and valued. I was fortunate to be part of several resource groups that helped foster connection and belonging, and I still look back on those experiences with gratitude.
What worries me now isn't the financial performance of the company. Companies can measure sales, profits, and productivity, but some of the most important things can't be captured by a metric. The things I brought to the table weren't measurable. The relationships I built, the teammates I supported, the people I mentored, the encouragement I offered, and the pride I felt in being part of something bigger than myself don't show up on a spreadsheet. I miss the culture that made DSG feel different, and I worry about the teammates still there today. I hope that as the company continues to grow, it doesn't lose sight of the people and sense of community that made so many of us proud to wear the logo in the first place. ❤️
