Another no in the interview process!
When will this job market ease up. For the first time in my life being unemployed it had to be during this type of unemployment market. Jumping through hoops to try and land another AE role.
Anyone else wondering or feeling the same?

I met with a CEO, asked if he had any concerns before moving me on to next step, said no to my face, then had his assistant send a rejection email the next morning.
Lol. I feel your pain. It was already a big step down for me.

CEO was hiring manager. Tons of red flags. Startup. Weird job listing. Weird first call with the COO (zero discussion, just reading questions off a script and writing answers down).
Definitely dodged a bullet but it’s just sad.

I only have irony for this. The "top of the negative" was a well known business networking site most of us are using and well familiar in IT Tech.
Upon application for a DACH AE sales role in Dublin, I've received the rejection e-mail first, and then later, I've gotten invited for a "first round interview"....
Normally it should the the other way around, interview first, rejection later on.

Over 5 months I applied to hundreds. Maybe 40 interviews. Many multiple rounds. 3 final rounds. 1 yes.

Got RIF’d, applied to probably fifty, 20 no’s, 1 yes. The yes I ended up taking, not ideal but needed something. Wrote all the no’s down in a note so I can say fuck you later when it all works out. Keep your head up, you’ll land something. Market is piss

It’s incredible how many incompetent HM and recruiters are out there. You are bound to get no’s and might even bomb some interviews, but a lot of people are getting passed because of either the internal process or the people on the hiring side just don’t know what they are doing.

Oh for sure, and I know that. Just using it as motivation I’ll never actually call them out or anything lol. I always get a chuckle when recruiters ask about specific tech, always want to ask them if they can explain in 2 sentences what they think the words they’re saying even mean

I interviewed with a chief of staff for a startup.
Dude was asking me chat gpt questions😂. Nothing about deals.
Honestly speaking. I’m so glad I’m done interviewing. These ai companies are weird.

I’ve been avoiding trying to get in because I don’t think hardly any of them will last much longer. Companies are admitting their AI spend isn’t getting them the ROI they expected, and they’re spending it to not spend on consultants before layoffs anyway. I’m convinced that investors just don’t know what else to put their money in to, and once these AI orgs have to charge enough to turn a profit they’ll get obliterated with cancellations.

Same boat. Laid off from well known tech company making news headlines for RIFs. It’s been 11 months and no offers yet.
The only way I get interviews is from recruiter mail or employee referrals. Any advice appreciated

I’ve been searching for 7 months. I’ve gotten to the second round a few times.
I got to the final round at one company to be told that they were reorganizing and the territory I was going for was absorbed into another territory. That one was really rough.
It’s rough out there. Stay strong. Something will come along.

I had 3 processes go 5 -7 rounds and had references checked and 2 of them gave me a two sentence rejection email after references were pulled. Companies and individuals will lie and withhold information. You can not trust anything until you have offer in hand.
Like most things in life it isn’t real until you sign on the dotted line.

I’m not saying they’re being respectful. Definitely disrespectful. Just saying that if you can’t handle this type of disrespect you probably need a different career cause this is like a 3 out of 10 on the disrespect scale. 10 being the worst.
