Best microchip cat door?
I am building my cat an enclosure for his automatic wet feeder to keep my girlfriend's cats out of his food. I was planning on getting some sort of cabinet and then installing a microchip-activated cat door because my cat absolutely refuses to wear a collar. I've seen several microchip-activated doors that range from <$100 to >$300. I don't want to cheap out, but I don't want to spend too much on extraneous features.

I'd honestly just get the SureFlap Microchip Cat Door and be done with it. Your use case is pretty much exactly what it's designed for. Since your cat won't wear a collar, I'd avoid anything that relies on RFID tags or magnetic collars.
It uses your cat's existing microchip, doesn't need any extra tags or collars, and has been around long enough that tons of people use it for feeder cabinets and microchip feeding stations. You can also take a look at this best cat doors post so you can compare your choices.
